  • It could be anyone bashing around back there !

  • @gobbledonk . (I got it wrong on purpose.) You need to breathe. Heaven forbid that this made someone's day. Jesus, what a prick.

  • Put this in the Let It Be DVD please!

  • The Btails never came close to writting a song as good as this.

  • @TheBlindPig1 Who are The Btails? Never heard of them. Are they any good? Probably not as good as The Beatles.

  • LOVE

  • He said 'IN Woodstock' not 'AT Woodstock'. Big difference. Dylan actually lived in Woodstock. The Woodstock festival wasn't even in Woodstock. It had to be moved to Bethel after Woodstock residents and the city council turned down the permit. As an American, Dylan is as important to me as Abe Lincoln.

  • @irishace11 , I agree. I bought the remastered Abe Lincoln double disc set. It's fantastic!! Especially the "Live at Gettysburg" tracks. I actually caught him live at the Ford Theater once,.......but not for long. "DOH!"

  • @Ghstwn I think Lincoln was wasted at the Unplugged show he did.

  • @irishace11 , He didin't do "UN"plugged. He got "Plugged". Worst thing since Altamont and the Stones.

  • @irishace11

He did the first version of happiness Is A Warm Gun,, released it as a single..came in at 22 with a bullet!

  • lovely song: lyrics are present on the well know (forgot the title) Dylan lyrics book

  • where is dylan's version?!?!?!

  • they play the dylan song I threw it all away right before mama, you been on my mind

  • I wish he would have covered this on an album, he really puts his heart into this song i think.

  • my father has this recording on a rare bootleg beatles record called "sweet apple trax". he played this track for me and his understanding was that George was playing original songs that never appeared on any of his official recordings. haha here i thought i had this secret knowledge of great george harrison songs when in reality, nearly 43 thousand people have heard these bob dylan covers on youtube. lol the internet has made the term "rare" obsolete in the music world.

  • i love mama you've been on my mind its awesome

  • Judy Collins recorded this as 'Daddy, You've Been On My Mind'. Lovely version.

  • i've had this on my old Sweet Apple Trax bootleg for years. Nice to have it out in the open so the YouTube world can enjoy it, too. I don't have a turntable any more so even I haven't heard it in years. Thanks for the upload!

  • o my god dude imagine being in that room with such great legends!

  • If i had a wish.......i would off liked to be a fly on the wall when this lot got together in a room

meaning Dylan, Beatles & Joan etc...what fun!

  • Classic. I'm in heaven, even if I'm still on earth.

  • how about if you wanna learn some facts, book up a book.

  • haha, book up a book?

  • its all too much!!!!!

  • sweet. v. sweet

  • that's human race's history

  • how did they know of this song. it didnt come out till the bootlegs decades later

  • actually bobby did play it at some of his earlier shows. it's on the live '64 bootleg i believe.

  • ya well that 64 bootleg didnt come till decades later

  • George had just been hanging out with Bob and The Band in Woodstock before the Let It Be sessions, so he probably learned these songs then.

  • joan baez had sang it in '64, changed the name to "daddy you've been on my mind"...

    i think

  • yeah well you may be referring to the "Halloween Show" at Philharmonic Hall, NYC, Oct 31, 1964, w/Joan Baez......they sang it together and she said 'daddy' instead of 'mama'. dylan wrote a beautiful song. i never heard george play it though, wow, its great.

  • @dirtybluegene But wasn't Woodstock in August of '69? it says in the description that this was recorded in January of that year, so wouldn't that debunk your theory? just saying.

  • @dirtybluegene not that it matter all that much, i mean no disrespect.

  • @dirtybluegene Bob Dylan didn't go to Woodstock, nor did he "hang out" there.

  • @ChibiTristan bob dylan spent most of his time in 67-69 in woodstock, both he and the band lived there, albeit separately, they recorded all of the released and unreleased basement tapes there, its all very well documented

  • @ingateman Wait, you were talking about the town Woodstock, weren't you? I thought you were referring to the festival. Sorry mate.

  • @ChibiTristan thats fine man! just thought id clear it up, hope it helped

  • @ChibiTristan Dylan lived and had a house in Woodstock in the late 60ies, read any Dylan biography !

  • love mccartney's take on this

  • Exceptional stuff

    ty awaggenspack

  • hahaha douche

  • Imagine if some of the other albums had been documented like Let It Be ! Goldmine.

  • Absolutely beautiful :), I just wish that you could hear George's voice a bit clearer.

  • who wrote this?

  • you can't be fucking serious...and if you truly don't know maybe you should try this fancy new thing called Google...

  • Lol - it even says 'Dylan' in the description.

  • geeez..your right i cant be as sophisticated as you and your vocabulary...

  • see, now we agree (and to beat a long dead message board grammar-horse the word is YOU'RE, you nitwit) and for the record, my point was not that you didn't know who wrote the song but rather that the description and several of the comments clearly indicate that Dylan wrote the song and that a simple Web search would have confirmed this

  • you're a douche.

  • no, but I play one on YouTube

  • Yeah its just want to clarify its not YOU'RE at all. HE was correct with you and your. Your is possessive while YOU'RE is an abbreviation for YOU ARE so he wouldn't say you and you are vocabulary. So I will finish by saying you're a douche.

  • Jesus, this is getting to be like fishing for peanut butter sandwiches. Note the usage at issue, that is, the FIRST instance of 'your': "geeez..your right i cant be... " which, if written without contractions and grammatical errors would read "You are right I cannot be..." Consequently, 'your' is incorrect in the first instance. Any more feedback from the back of the class?

  • Yes. It's a minor point, but "you're" is not an abbreviation - it's a contraction.

  • Sounds like the guitar in "Falling"...

  • A true gem of the Let It Be sessions.

  • GREAT RECORDING... BEAUTIFUL!

  • I must say that´s one of the most unbelievable things i ever listened to. My great hero singing the most beautiful song of the great genius.

Dylan and George Harrison are fantastic.

Really precious, thank you so much for this!

  • The Maharishi said that the Beatles were angels. I think that is the right description.... musically, of course.

  • Mama, You Been On My Mind is so beautiful and emotive, more than any Dylan record of this song, and my definitive Beatles "bootleg" favourite. Actually George is singing, ... but there is another Beatles playing guitar?

  • no,no,no Dylans version on the bootleg series is far superior. The delivery and impact of Dylan is what makes him great. Musical genius is what makes The Beatles great but to be fair the Beatles are only messing around on this.

  • My life has now been completed.

  • exactly!

  • @guglio1290 - Because a mop-haired scouser strums an abortionate jam of someone else's song?? Some people are easily pleased. Don't end your life though, there may be more things to look forward to, i suspect

  • OMG!

I've heard rare Beatles' stuff but NEVER this!

    thanks...

BTW,do you have "Meditation Song" [sic]...

    recorded w/Donovan,it's a birthday greeting

for Mike Love of the Beach Boys or something...by the Beatles!

  • @RonaldVaughan put in 'Indian rope trick/happy birthday mike love'

  • i know that mama u been on my mind was on the bootleg series but that came out in like 2000.

or does someone know if it came out earlier in a different album?

  • my itunes is saying that mama youve been on my mind was first released in 1997 on bootleg series volumes 1 -3. It also was rleased in 2002 on the rolling thunder revue bootleg series, form 75 - 76.

  • Bootleg Series 1-3 was first issued in 1991.

  • I had this on bootleg vinyl in 1977.

The album was called Sweet Apple Trax.

I bought the album at a flea market in New Jersey.

  • You're right, I have Sweet Apple Trax and I got mine on the Boardwalk im Wildwood, NJ. Used to be a great place to get boots back then.

  • thank you very much for uploading this

  • This song is from Bob Dylan. It's called "I Threw It All Away".
