  • Cooper: "Mr. Hitchens, do you believe Jerry Falwell is in heaven?"

Hitchens: "No, and I think it's a pity there isn't a hell for him to go to."

    DAMN !!!!

  • Religion ... is a divisive, evil, greedy, jealous enterprise.

  • @perfectbark Yes

  • Jerry Falwell is an incestuous prick who fucked his mother, all while drinking a cool crisp Campari...

  • With religion, nonsense and the transmission of lies are two commodities that are never in short supply. - "The Cobalt100"

  • i REALLY miss this man!!!

  • Cooper: "If there is a heaven,do you think Jerry Falwell is in it?"

Hitchens: "No, and I think that its a pity that there isn't a hell for him to got to"

    BUUUURRRRN!!

  • Pinching his chubby little ....:) (I almost died laughing) . Thanks for being on this Plannet Christopher!

  • Andersoon Cooper wasn't sure if Christopher Hitchens believed in Heaven? Did you do any research about the person you were having on your show at all? Didn't you know anything about him Andersoon? Damn...

  • @Ryan9145X He was just poking Hitch.

  • My most sincere & fervent wish is for Christopher Hitchens to be UNIVERSALLY elevated in the hearts & minds of generations to come. His writing & oratory is Very Important & Very Relevant, not only to the continued evolution of, but perhaps the very existence of, the human race. We must 'stay the finger' of those serious pockets of humanity out there who subscribe to that wacky, fire and brimstone revelations type ending!

  • Hitchens The Genius!

  • I like how Anderson actually let him talk, unlike fox news.

  • @CyclonexxxIce he didn't let him talk. He had no choice, when Hitchens spoke about true facts.

  • "I would doubt that he could read *any* long book."

  • The two fat buffoons are in the same place now locked in a sweaty embrace.

  • to hitch <3

  • Falwell was Hitchslapped!!

  • Atheist response: Hitchens attacking falwell after death

    " awesome,pwned, hitchslap lolz"

Atheist Response: A few religious folk attacking Hitchens after death

"Disgusting, vile, the true face of religion..etc"

Btw falwell was a peice of shit in my eyes ;)

  • @GT45000 yeah, good point. but I'm guessing it's not the SAME atheists who are commenting on this video as were the ones saying "Disgusting, vile, the true face of religion..etc"

  • I'm not from the USA so I don't know much about CNN - but WOW, this interviewer actually does his job! Every other video I see with Hitchens on the news over there is packed with some dumb religious interviewer yelling.

  • I wonder how many people rejoiced at Hitchen´s death.?

  • lol anderson is funny in this

  • Jerry Falwell was a disgusting and repulsive human being..............This is fitting tribute to that criminal......AND CH REST IN PEACE.........If there is a God I'm sure CH is in heaven and Falwell is being anally raped for eternity by a gang of horses........

  • damn i loved CH.. always made me look up at least one word in the dictionary every time I listened to him RIP mate

  • @Sconezeta

If Hitchens is right, he wouldn't be resting in peace lol

  • It's a good thing he didn't use 'Chaucerian fraud' with Fox and Friends...imagine the faces.

  • @pilatunes HAHAHA!

  • One of my favorite clips of Hitchens. Classic.

  • "From a CUP!!" That sums up Falwell perfectly.

  • Christopher Hitchen has taught me far than I've ever learned in school. He really makes you think about things.

  • @HahaSpastic when did i say that?

  • Hitchens makes me wanna read a book.

  • i'll miss Chris. not jerry

  • best thing I learned from hitch: black label is the breakfast of champions

  • its a pitty that god isnt up there. cause if he was he would be getting his ass kicked by hitchens. RIP christopher

  • @jdragon1012 Epic. xD

  • A brilliant and amazing mind - a beautiful mind at that.

  • Hitch would have made a better jesus.

  • Man I love Hitchens. R.I.P my good man.

  • I like to think that Anderson Cooper, a gay man in a prestigious position on American television, was finding it hard not to smile. When someone as horrible and homophobic as Falwell dies, who wouldn't? This is the late Christopher Hitchens at his vitriolic best.

  • It's funny to see Jerry Falwell skewered for what he said about 9/11, after the democrats blamed the Great Satan for bringing it on ourselves, and defended Islam and still defend Islam.

If Hitchens cared what anybody said about 9/11 he'd never get around to hating Jerry Falwell with all of the democrats in line ahead of him.

  • @MrShoeguy Hitchens was very much opposed to what he saw as a masochistic attitude by many left-leaning Americans towards their country and westerners towards western society in response to things such as 9/11.

  • Many of us brought up by secular, progressive parents had thought that religion and all the nonsense that goes with it had been dealt with long ago and consigned to the garbage bin of history. Hitchens highlighted the fact that this is far from true; that it really is a clear and present danger to civilised society. His combative and thought-provoking voice will, thanks to technology, never be silenced. So sorry he has died.

  • Christopher had the intelligence and the swagger to do anything. But he devoted his life to deconstruction. Faith or doubt, he's destined to be forgotten.

  • @LeRoyGuy Forgotten?..........Lmao Not In My Lifetime!

  • "Pinching his chubby little flanks" ROFLMAO

  • @shabbat73 Your comments stink of fear, Hitchens really got under your skin didn't he? He would be very happy to know that.

  • @HelFKiernan this man is totally LOST!

  • RIP you are an intellectual hero for Americans.

  • @FellOnSoundGarden No he's not! This man is horrible!

  • Comment removed

  • wields those words like a fucking samurai sword!

    RIP

  • I agree with him entirely, and his point about Fundamentalist Christianity subverting peace between Jews and Palestinians is spot-on. The sooner we get Christian sociopaths out of politics, the better.

  • @HelFKiernan I don't hate you at all brother I am helping you so you do not get other souls trapped in your delusion, we wouldn't want you to go to hell and have people there that could blame you for being there themselves now would we?

  • @HelFKiernan Shut up you moron you can not even defend your own religon let alone define aethiesm with out someone else doing it for you. How would you know what made Christopher Hitchens "bad ass"? Maybe all the homosexual love affairs he had on his wife caused his ass to be bad? Go read Hitch-22 your "Hero's" own book where he speaks on his love of penis. Yeah great moral leader you got thier zealot.

  • @YeshuaisShekinah

lol more religious bigotry. You cannot think people will take your seriously when you attack homosexuals. You are an ignorant bigot.

  • I miss Hitch...

  • “The empty life of this ugly little charletan proves only one thing: You can get away with the most extraordinary offenses to marality and truth in this country if you can just get yourself Reverend."

Classic Hitchens; we will miss him.

  • The guy didn't give a fuck. RIP Hitch.

  • I feel cheated and robbed.

If he had only survived a few more days, we would have gotten a similarly entertaining eulogy for Kim-Jong-Il who's just died.

  • @jazzx251 That exactly what I thought when I woke up this morning and heard that K J-I had died.

  • So - Hitchens is burning in hell.

While Jerry Falwell is playing his golden harp in heaven.

    Christianity sucks.

  • @jazzx251 I think that's true of all the Abrahamic faiths.

  • Shame there's not a heaven for you to go to, Hitch.

Unlike Falwell, Hitch was a real loss.

  • I love you, Mr. Hitchens. The world is a lesser place without you.

  • The only time I ever heard a reporter allow Hitch to speak...fair play to him..

  • Cooper, you are a respectable man.

  • @matvdnbe

There is a very big difference between micro evolution and macro evolution. Saying that evidence of micro evolution (europeans to americans) in the world proves that macro evolution (bacteria to humans) is present is quite the stretch and thoughtless assumption.

  • Anderson Cooper is an excellent interviewer. He in no way berated Hitchens as I have seen other hosts do so eagerly and, even when Hitch cut him off, Cooper stayed completely level-headed. This, my friends, is what an intellectual exchange should look like.

    R.I.P. Chris Hitchens

  • RIP Mr. Hitchens. I will miss your impeccable smarts and quick wit to call the purveyors of organized religion as a making fraud, like his sprite condemnation of the big fat pasty faced Rev. Falwell, his corpse found in his obscure office, "he missed the rapture".

You need to read Hitchens best books, one of the latest "God is not Great" If you were raised a Catholic it wouldn't take long for you to understand that you have had your brain washed.

    I'm bummed he's gone...ecstatic I knew him.

  • I like how AC just let's him speak, so many douchebags like to insert their own opinions or cut him off.

  • @randomnessocity I was thinking the very same thing! Just contrast this video with the Sean Hannity interviews available on YouTube.

  • @randomnessocity Like Pierce Morgan -_-

  • Unreal, the hate that spews from this man's lips makes me sick. He refers to Falwell as being 'evil' - I wonder where mankind got these terms if they aren't from the Bible? I suppose we have all just evolved from amoeba and invented good and evil by ourselves after a very Big Bang. Evolving from microscopic creatures into human beings makes absolutely no sense. Especially when we still have all of these other life forms still in existence as well. I suppose some decided to evolve over millions

  • @lumleymatt

Please explain how asserting that 9/11 was caused by the United States' tolerance for homosexuals ISN'T a hideously ignorant and hateful thing to say. (I assume you already know that Falwell said that in October 2001; as, by the way, the twin towers were still smoking) You don't need to read holy texts to be able to see bigotry when it's staring you in the face.

  • Correction: Two days. He said this TWO DAYS after 9/11. Moral majority, indeed.

  • @lumleymatt:

Saying human beings could not have evolved from bacteria because there are still bacteria is about as stupid as saying that modern-day Americans can't be descended from Europeans because there are still Europeans.

As for good and evil, Christianity could have died in the dust of the Third Century CE like a dozen other apocalyptic cults and we'd still be able to speak about right and wrong quite intelligibly, thank you very much.

  • @HahaSpastic The irony is him speaking pitilessly off the dead and yet him facing that same fate as well. In Hitch 22 he speaks about his reaction when he was diagnosed with cancer and how death seemed like a specter. Look, i respect hitchens for his sincerity and i was hoping that he recovered because cancer is a gruesome disease. But what goes around comes around

  • @jamaicanification

Um, doesn't everyone eventually face death?

  • @jamaicanification What are you on about you simpering cretin???

  • Hichens is so full of hate.

  • Rest in peace, you magnificent bastard.

  • If there is no Hell, a pity

If there is a Hell, say hi to Jerry

  • Human intelligence, faith in a supreme being or force, religions, dogmas, beliefs, acts of good and evil remain veiled for the most part waiting for the revelation of the absolute of what is or in essence, what is not! All that exists in reality or in abstract is a conjecture of the sum of possibilities within the human potential.Christopher's reflection on misguided information by religious leaders is valid. One thing I agree with Falwell on is that somehow Zionist Israel is root of much evil!

  • Hate for evil and love of good have both played into the chaos of change to impose perceptions upon realities. God or UnGod..both play into our sense of the absolute in life as limited by our intelligence, experience or knowledge. Perhaps the missing factor is "free will" the only vestige of equality that levels the playing field in this game we call "life." None is objectionable as all are a product of the ultimate powers possessed by humanity..endowed by whom or what? That remains to be seen!

  • woke up, read that the Hitch died, immediately poured a glass of scotch and started watching this

    RIP Hitch

  • @TheKinkyKook that is what this miserable alcoholic taught, huh?... get a life... religion isn't evil, Christopher Hitchens is (or was)

  • @TheKinkyKook Outstanding, Sir.

  • @TheKinkyKook not so fun when your own guy dies eh?

  • Hitch will be missed!

  • This video still makes me laugh, Hitch was the best.. nobody else had the balls to go on national TV after someone like Falwell dies and run them down like this for the fraud they were.

  • Comment removed

  • "I would doubt that [Falwell] could read ANY long book...." We're going to miss Hitchens a lot. Who else ever called a religionist leader a "Chaucerian fraud?" RIP Christopher Hitchens.

  • People like that should be selling pencils ............... from a CUP! lmfao Hitch you were and still are the best. RIP Hitch you taught me so much.

  • Goodbye and fond farewell Mr Hitchens. It was always a pleasure and an education to listen to you.

  • Wow, the irony of this. Hitchens insults the dead(though i must say i didn't like falwell that much) and he himself has faced death. I will say that i was hoping he recovered from cancer. I didn't want to see him go out that way because Cancer is a gruesome disease to have. I also at least respect his sincerity and honesty. But we must keep in mind that he didn't show the same respect to those(like Mother Teresa) that he disagreed with that died. Nevertheless, its sad......

  • Let's all ignore the trolls.

  • Goodbye Christopher. You mattered and we will miss you

  • Christopher Hitchens and Jerry Falwell are burning in Hell together.

  • He will be missed.

  • We will miss you Christopher.

  • I wish you could read my message Mr. Hitchens, you were my idol growing up as an atheist. You will always be remembered by the books and the speeches you gave. RIP

  • from a cup! RIP Hitch

  • I'll miss you Hitch.

  • @TheFromagee : Watch my heart-felt and sincere tribute: "Christopher Hitchens and His Last Thoughts."

  • RIP Christopher Hitchens. We will very much miss you.

  • What does Falwell's weight or the supposed "ugliness" of his face have to do with anything Christopher? That's when your hate overflows to the point that it hurts his loved ones unnecessarily after the death of someone they held dear. Hate speech can't be used to combat hate speech.

  • @gtab123 it can and he did

  • RIP Hitch. Now to honor your death, I will not say a prayer, but rather, read a book.

  • RIP Christopher Hitchens

  • RIP Hitchens.

  • It's refreshing to see in interviewer that actually lets their guest speak, rather than cutting over them all the time.

  • i dont support falwell but hitchins is a prime example why one should not trust an aetheist. aetheist have no moral barometer and no feeling of apathy and human forgiveness. they act totally of selfish emotions and hate for religion. he does not sound much different from falwel. falwell used religion. hitchins used aetheism

  • @thicky "aetheist have no moral barometer and no feeling of apathy and human forgiveness."

Actually, surveys have shown atheists tend to give more to charities and are at least as active in humanitarian work around the globe.

  • @n52nimbus you misunderstanding what i am getting at. what i am trying to convey is that as mankind. aetheist carry out the same manners as any other group xtians, muslims etc based on mans desire to selfishly do good things to make themselves look good. not becasue they do it from the heart. but because religion uses god as the judge of moral character inwardly there act is seen as more sincere.

  • @thicky Actually, I see good deeds carried out by atheists as "more sincere", as they are not fishing for any rewards from God. Look, let's be logical. If Man was as "selfish" as you maintain before a belief in your god, then the species would have died out hundreds of thousands of years ago. The "unselfish" acts you describe are actually "selfish" in that they allow the species to advance and thrive. There are no truly altruistic acts, least of those by religious folk.

  • @n52nimbus i agree there are no altuistic acts by religious folk. but then aetheist or the enlightenment period which seek to give mankind jis own authority has not been the solution for an already plagued religious people.so as you said and agreed mankind is just altogether slefish as you never know where the heart really is. it is deceitful. from politis to the pulpit. man is man. he does what he wants and desires.

  • how can u say that when they could be using decption. thats not 2 say that religious folks dont either but the fact that aetheist can do it and not have conviction about it excsues them frm the religious type cause they dont have the inner spirit that sets the moral code. religion does not have to control that either. religion just seeks to give a more inner positioning on mans place.

  • @n52nimbus aetheist version of good or bad is based on a personal code of ethics. not an inner conviction. so if they run ver someone with a car they dont have to see it the same way as a person who has conviction of giving grievous harm. it is not really smthng he can be held accountable 4 as u live by ur own code of ethics. car thing is just an example. it does not have to be that. there r many variations of example i can use. btw i am not religious just in case u thought

  • @thicky What a load of tosh.

Your morality doesn't come from inner conviction, you deluded shit stain. It comes from a bronze age genocidal manual of stupid and hate. That's not internal, shit for brains.

  • @Aquaria and based on your vocabulary i can tell yours has no substance of real conversation. just vile comments that highlight your inability to think for yourself. instead of hiding behind the hate talk and selfishness that you have the key to all of the worlds problems. if this was the case there r enough ppl like you to cure the world problems but clearly folks like u r not bringing solutions just vile talk that comes frm hate. that does not work either. can you think of a better one.

  • @thicky Lol. You religious tards are so funny and predictable. Your car example is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Here are some "inner convictions" from those who believe -Kill gays cause the bible said it -bomb abortion clinics and doctors -start wars to protect YOUR religious "freedom." -deny people the right to choose how they want to form relationships. -tell others to find "jesus/god/allah/etc" or be damned -own slaves -child molestation -etc.
  • @JeanetteTherese okay you r on an emotional tirade. the bible nvr mentions anyone to kill gays. or another stuff u mntioned. i dont care what folks say in the name of religions. it does not deny that there is a supreme being. religion can come from anywher it can come from man. just like all the other things u mntioned like war killing gays etc. man does alot of things in the name of religion. and religion is not from god. its from man.

  • @thicky lastly just bcos man put god on it does not validate that its god bhind it or that god is apporoving what man is doing. in fact aetheist, who are men could be behind all this too. so aetheist are just as much to blame as their co religionist. btw i am not religious just conscious of reality.

  • @thicky Holy shit you are stupid. Go read your damn bible.

  • @JeanetteTherese using words like 'holy' you must be the one involved in religion. i just said i dont do religion. maybe you should do a course on how religion got started. as you will see the bible makes no reference to following a religion. this is mans spin on biblical info. however the joran does promote the idea of religion. as for the other religions there are claims of you being your own ruler much like aetheism purports.

  • @thicky I understand religion moron. And, I know a lot about the different histories. I called you a moron for your fucking dumb car example and not understanding atheism.

You may consciously claim you are not religious, but you comments say otherwise.

  • @n52nimbus give me one aetheist charity that existed before the age of enlightenment. any aetheist charity that exist has only started since the 19th century possibly later and exist to try to prove thmselves as morally better without beliving in a god. this is selfish motivation and is not genuine. it does not mean that religious folks cant be the same. it proves my point that mankind alone is selfish and therefore must need a saviour with this type of thinkin

  • Respond to this video... Hitchens is pretty toxic, like Falwell. But at least he is intelligent.

  • I love him for this.

  • "Selling pencils from a cup."

  • God is good plain and simple.

if you take the time to get to know the real person then he will change your life. dont get caught up in lies dig into the truth

  • @sugcppk123 u know him????

  • @chrisnorthcote2011 YES of course changed my life!

  • I love the footage of Falwell in his ceremonial robes. He looks like he just got back from a klan rally and stuffed the grand cyclops hood in his pocket.

  • He Speaks the truth... Falwell was a " Cunt " !!

  • I hope Hitchens gets a chance to piss on Falwell s grave before he passes. If not there are millions only too glad to do it on his behalf.

  • At least CNN stays neutral and just asks questions like they're supposed to, unlike piece of shit fox.

  • @JackWilsonVideos Thats my opinion, too. One shouldn't call neutral media "mainstream".

  • @JackWilsonVideos you miss the point of how new coverage is biased. Fox has their own style of Journalism, which I agree is tiresome. News coverage is biased through what studies they cite and what experts they bring on the show. In this case, they bring on Hitchens to talk about Falwell. Somebody made that decision. That is how the news is biased. A professor at Stanford recently did a study on this, check it out as it was rather interesting.

  • @50percentFirebird Well ya they all have their own biases, but when fox says "fair and balanced" thats just retarded

  • @JackWilsonVideos BTW I was wrong about Stanford, it was Groseclose at UCLA

  • @JackWilsonVideos You forgot MSNBC.. They're just as bad...Truth is none of these Networks really report News..They spew their own Biases/points of view..

  • @JackWilsonVideos : I was just watching it earlier, but couldn't finish watching it because it would have too tempting to start screaming as these intellectual turds trying to talk over Hitchens.

  • PINCHING HIS CHUBBY LITTLE FLANKS jesus christ this is so great

  • At least Anderson here doesn't interrupt like all the fox guys.

  • @44rears That's because CNN is a illegitimate news channel and Foxnews is a propaganda machine for the right and any opinion contrary to theirs is shut out and ridiculed.

  • "He he he! I'm a Christian and my faith is both a shield and a cudgel! Yooooou can't persecute me because of my religion but I caaaaan persecute others because my religion demands it! My huckster-like institutions are jamming their beliefs into the political arena, while these same institutions remain tax free! He he he! Fascism is FUN!"

  • I wish Christopher would stop holding back and tell us how he really feels

  • @LadyAmaltheaUnicorn

Judging by this interview.... "I say, chap. I'm bored. I think I would rather have tea. You will have my appearance fee transferred into my account, yes?" *yawn*

  • @RickLowerboy84 Ha, not tea- a Scotch and a smoke more likely knowing him!

  • One thing about a person who tries to speak the truth like C.H. it makes, hopefully, people take the time to find out the truth and be informed on a subject in order to have an opinion............

  • hitchens is dead on.

  • I almost forgot that this pig had died. He was an utterly disgusting piece of garbage. It's amazing that people were probably robbed of their life savings by this man and still went into their graves thinking he was sent by God. The scary part is that he was in power till the day he died. The parts of the country that followed him must be miserable places to live. I live in the "godless" Northeast and I wouldn't go anywhere else.I can't wait to hear what Hitchens says when Pat Robertson croaks.

  • I wish Chris had a Megachurch, you know, with a bowling alley and everything. Of course, Sam should have one too, preferably in the same town so I could attend both without having to travel. Where were guys like them 40 years ago when I really needed them?

  • I am definately going to start reading Christopher Hitchens' books.

  • @MrDukemeister I think I will, too. I'm not an atheist (I'm more of an agnostic), but I'm always interested in other views on religion and ways of looking at the world.

  • What an amazing guy Christopher Hitchens is! I do believe he is a true genius. So far, in every one of his videos I've had the pleasure to listen to, he is spot on the money. He has a wonderful way of putting things in the very simplistic of terms, no doubt so that 'surface thinkers' Christians will be able to understand what he's propounding also. Many Christins are fast becoming ex-Christians - in fact, it has reached record proportions and it is in no small part due to Christopher and others
