I visited Vietnam & I freaked out a little at first by the traffic, Then I got used to it. Now I can absolutely see the logic. It helps that Vietnamese are generally nice people. Theres a lot of give & take on these roads. Also less cars , so less selfishness.
The asian group in the U.S have the lowest rate/percentage of accidents. Check the U.S population and Japanese population. U.S have 3 times as much as Japan, yet in 2009, death by traffic accidents in U.S exceeds 6 to 7 times as Japan. So yeah, I guess the exaggeration for stereotype is a bit too much. If you round up the one single best driver from each country in the world, and let them drive the exact same cars in a race, most of Asia's best driver will dominate.
Plus, in contrast to Vietnamese riding motorcycles and driving like this in Vietnam, the U.S have miles and miles of roads, and of course millions of street lights. So I think it is fair to compare these two countries, don't you? And it will still be counted as an accident, since they are crashing unintentionally, no matter if there were injuries or not.
