  • 1:20 till 2:10 was epic.

    the rest is just awesome.

  • Fuck..... dude.....

  • Amazing playing. Very well done. Congrats. There's a lot of hard work behind.

  • are you mister fastfinger?

  • mmm this is healing my ear:):) well its full healthy but....

  • Say what you will about this guy, but he obviously knows his shit and is able to play it with conviction.

  • one of the best on youtube! congrats!

  • shred

  • Srbia love you!!!

  • i'd rather listen to him than allan holdsworth

  • u make me feel like as a guitarist I ave no imagination

  • two words: Wonderful Technique.

  • holy smokes! yeeeah!

    awesome!

  • if i did not know any better i would have thought that the second tune on this video was John Petrucci himself(LTE style). with all that talent, i mean genuine grade A+ talent, you could be original man. so many people will never be able to even come close to your skill. make use of it and crank out some original material.

  • very good!!!!! thank you

  • @kokoabolo

True criticism is not all bad but seen better or not, how about give some useful information. Even better how about you upload something your self to prove a point before posting crap responses that are not thought out and just wack wack wack.

  • wow...my jaw just dropped like 5 inches

  • if a guy that good is not famous then I'm quitting! why be incredible and be unknown? what er we doin' this for?!

  • for the love of the music man. Plus there is a lot more things than just technique. And complex music has never been commercial just because "regular people" doesn't really understand it

  • Because we have musical passion and must rock my friend;)

  • enjoyment !

  • for sanity.

  • @optoisolator Being Famous is not the reason u should play music my friend,,its about FUN 1st and foremost,,Im sure he entertains friends n family,,or local shows,,witch is enough 4 the guy who just enjoys playing and cares not about fame<< Dont play 4 the wrong reasons it will only hurt you in the long run.

  • @optoisolator

We're doing this for ourselves. You can't be a musician if your only motivation is success.

  • wow that was profound

  • hey good playing seriously...how many years of theory did it take to get this good. i know it must have taken years for your technical playing to get this good but im jsut wondering if u had to know alot of theory to play this good

  • fucking beastly playing dude

  • u make me feel like a shit of guitarist ._.

  • :D:D:D

  • @erwinvasquez the taping and emphasizing he does is insane

  • WOW purée cette branlée !!! respect mec ... du pur et bon truth in shreding :D

  • who the hell is this dude!!!!

  • Arkadiy Starodoub

  • it is nice work but it isnt sped up

  • yeah i know! i mean its good guitar work there's no reason to speed it up...

  • what hes playing doesn't sound like dream theater at all.

  • Clusterf*ck techniques

    I like it

  • He plays esp guitars. The blue one is an esp too you can see it on his myspace :)

He is awesome, read something about him going to release an instructional dvd, that true?

  • its like u made a deal with the devil hahah fuckin amazing!!!!!!!

  • Nah he seems like the kind of guy the Devil would sell his soul to in order to acquire chops like him, hahaha.

  • I can only hope one day i can be half as good of a guitarist as you are, Freakin' awesome man! 5 Stars!

  • I have a new god.

  • know your scales, know your progressions/ harmonies, know your group phrasing know your techniques legato string skipping, alternate picking, hybrid picking, harmonics, tapping, sweeping my favourite syncopation and of course music theory.

    practice practice and practice more.

then you can attempt playing this stuff

  • lol hate the sound of the progressions .... the playing is outstanding!

  • what guitars are you playing?

  • they look like jackson dinkies or they could be ESP's one or the other

  • thanks

  • ignore the jealous bastards out there

    that is AMAZING

    no joke

  • Every single thing you do, is perfect. So clean. I hope to one day be this. That right there that I'm seeing. Love.

  • that was fucking tasty

  • you are fucking amazing.

  • Man you play really great! Stop wasting time on that hybrid crap, play something melodic. You know, slow, slow, simple, then bug out for a few seconds, again slow melodic PUF end of the solo on with the song...

  • Here's a food analogy...Thai food can be very hot and spicy. BUT, great Thai food gives you many flavors along with the heat. Part of what makes it good is tasting other flavors besides the fire.

What's my point? Well, shredding is a brilliant technique and adds a lot of fire. But when it's constant HOT HOT HOT, it dulls the senses and sounds a bit boring.

  • beautiful analogy. ur a poet dude.

and its true what u say,

    or dudette. no sexism intended

  • Hey Gakgakyobyob!

Thank you for your kind words and by the way, I'm a dude.

YOU are definitely an intelligent soul.

    Cheers!

  • Beatifully explained dude. I will write this somewhere for sure. Cheers.

  • haha what?

    that was a pathetic analogy

  • Getting jealous at the sight of intelligence dude? It is far from pathetic although you have the right to not like it.

  • compareing music to food, genious.

if you have an IQ of 80

  • so boring

  • boring...left after 1:00 min mark

  • The first video isnt the best, 2nd is my favorite.

  • jump assholes, hehe i love it. Grab miley on the way down!

  • Amazing dude, totally awesome, creative and artistic, there's a lot of envious people... keep going!!!

  • Great technique and amazing skills, but that's all I can find here.

Reminds me of when I was a teen and started with a great teacher after years of practicing technique, speed, scales, patterns, etc. He said, let's play a blues and I started showing off what I'd learnt.

We finished and he told me, that's OK in theory but it's not blues, I couldn't play blues.

MInd, I was nowhere near this guy.

  • blues is easy. your teacher sucked.

  • That teacher of mine is a great jazz guitarist and can play fast but with far more musicality than any of these "shredders".

Blues is easy?? on what exactly do you base your statement?

If you were able to play anything like Clapton, Beck, Hendrix, SR Vaughan, etc "easily", maybe you could mutter an opinion.

    How old are you? 12?

  • he probably is trying to express the same sentiment that I have. Blues is great and all, but it's just like the whole jam band thing as far as some of us feel like it's a whole bunch of masturbatory musicians who could be doing something more interesting than the 12 bar shit they learned at the beginning. I learned guitar playing Hendrix and clapton, now metal and fusion interest me much more. Musicality is purely subjective, some people think Yani and John Tesh are chock for of musicality.

  • Whilst I agree on the 12 bar-pentatonic scale-blue note bendings-to eternity a complete bore, I find cramming as many notes per beat as possible equally mind numbing. My washing machine spinning might as well be entertaining in that sense.

It doesn't have to be Clapton OR Petrucci, it can be both, and great guitarist appreciate different styles and add to their playing expertise.

A mediocre shredder is as boring as his mediocre bluesy counterpart.

  • you still can't see past the veil of your own tastes. I for one am able to sit through 5 hour movies, can listen to a three piece blue not jazz group in an empty restaurant for a whole night, look at a Geoff Darrow comic(so much more talented than most musicians could even dream of being) until I require a new perscription for glasses. I enjoy and appreciate beauty in anything possible. when the object of fascination becomes intolerable, on then do I condemn. thats just me.

  • hello

  • flyingscudmad. End of my rant, musicality isn't subjective, there's simply good music and shit music. By the simple fact that music is above all art, and fabricated corporate brain numbing "music" has little to do with art. Likewise dj's, rappers and computer music making bums would be artists. Come on mate, you know better than that.

  • look out, thought police! As much as I'd agree that there is shit music and great music, when it comes to people putting what they want to see or hear into existance, I cannot say that less is better or more is worse. Really, I truly enjoy music so dense and technical simply because it can contain the same sentiments of a less complicated song and more. Your statement that music is above all art is just contemptible.

  • Well, well...contemptible is a bit of harsh word isn't it?

What happened there is that sometimes I write as I'd speak and a missing comma in a written sentence changes its meaning entirely.

What i actually meant was; "music is above all, (comma) art" a form of art, at least that's what I've believed for my whole life.

NOT that music is above all other forms of art.

    Alas! semantics

    Are we clearer now?

Oh and "thought police", really? I'm frankly open minded, though I do speak my mind

  • its easy to claim to be able to play the blues but to actually play the blues takes more talent than alot of the shred stuff although there is some of that shred stuff that is damn good music

  • I used to love this video...but now it doesn't touch me.....SOUNDS FRIGGEN GRRRREAT THOUGH.

  • no mamar!

  • a lot of greg howe influence there!

    really cool!

  • pass the prozac.

  • Arkadiy Starodoub. mind blowing. i love this !

  • Freak !

  • maan someone pleas tell me who is this !!! He plays just like Ron Jarzombek!

  • wtf?!

ron? ron is totally more metal and straight!

  • Great playing! But the audio is so poor you can hardly tell what is really going on.

  • Wow now this guy is good!!!! what is his name and does he give lessons? :)

  • well... I thought I knew how to play.

  • So who is this guy then? Nice guitar...

  • awesome!

    kinda like greg howe's style

  • wow that hybrid picking sounds awesome.. ive got to try that out..

  • omg

  • see mike groisman in you tube

  • that was amazing, is this the japanese guy playing or the other?

  • wow.... his hybrid picking is AMAZING!! like guthrie govan!! 5STARS

  • anyone have a tab for this?

  • Yea. A tab would be amazing. Anyone have one??

  • 1:30

I would kill to know how to do that..

  • Would you sit down and try to figure it out?

  • I could try, but sadly, I know I'm not good enough. :) Haha.

  • Thinking like that isn't a good start. I'm sure with enough practice you'll nail it :) He's pretty much tapping as well as fingering a scale. The trick is to be precse, take nothing less than perfect otherwise it won't sound as such.

  • OH SHIT!

  • WE NEED HQ VERSION OF THIS!!

  • OTL

  • what's the name of this guy ?

  • Аркадий Стародуб or Arkadiy Starodoub

  • oh my god. this is sweet. rock on dude.

  • The guy is very talented, I am also good but this guys has a style which I cannot match. I would like to play with this guy in a band sometime. I'd also like to know what kind of guitar this is!

  • o_O

  • MASTER!!!

  • Excellent. I´m also a big fan of hybrid techniques.
