Not to be mean but they are really not in tune with each other. It just seems quite odd because the backround flute is perfect then we have the people who are actually playing who are off. It bothers me cause I can hear screeching from the middle person's flute.

It's a bamboo flute, not the normal one used in the song, so I assume it'll sound a bit off.... Besides the bamboo flute is better suited for Chinese songs rather than American ones. ^^

@screamingnightmares not true..the players just weren't that good. you can see a lot of mistakes they made..i hope you can lol. the dizi sounds better when playing this song. i know because i play it myself. these players just tried to add too much of their own style which screws up the song.

the flutes are not in tune, and the ornamentations are at the wrong places.. I'm sorry, but you need to practise more. But I'm sure it's hard to play bamboo flute, so just keep on practising.

I give them a big thumbs up for trying. The feeling of the song is captured regardless of the intonation. My guess is that these are Chinese dizi non-Western bamboo flutes made to play withing the criteria of Chinese traditional music. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it might be difficult to get these flutes to play precisely in tune in the Western equal temperament tuning system.
