The subaru didnt skid sideways after the landing, he skid the car sideways after the landing.

He made a near perfect landing and the car settled with the front of the car facing the camera

You can argue that he could have avoided crashing his car, or atleast to the extent that it was damaged

Guys, enough arguing. I'm sure Pastrana, Block, Loeb and others are all perfectly capable of driving a fast car in a straight line towards a ramp. It's more about entertaining an audience, which I'd say most of the credit probably goes to Red Bull for. It's a publicity stunt (pun!) and it achieved it's goal of grabbing our attention. Good show!
