i remember listening to this as young child. my brother and i had no idea who sang the song, or what it was about, but we loved it. and years later i spent much time hunting through 7" records and finally came across it. it was like a revelation!!! i was about 7 years old when this came out.
Hoi Chris, heel goed gedaan! Wat een goede mix! Heb je er nog meer? Of is dit je enige mix? Je bent een carriere misgelopen...... bedankt, ik heb genoten.
August,1978,jammin down the road in Big Sky Country....Watch by Mannfred Mann blastin outta the Pioneer Cassette deck,1966 Pontiac Lemans, powered by a 1965 389 cubic inch GTO engine with a T-10 four speed, blattin thru dual cherry bombs....thanks for the memories!!!!
Mij ontmoeten? Ik woon in België, Ninove. Dat hoeft toch niet. Luister en geniet.
OMG - this is one of 'my songs', carried this one around for years, since my teens I didn't know it was the manfreds who did it tho', this song makes me feel restless, so much happened when I was a kid and this was in the charts - makes my head spin.
if you had any idea how long i have been trying to find this song. i was about 7 years old when this was in the charts, living by the seaside. my brother and i loved it but never knew the name of the song. thanks for posting it.
Correct jedimaster1987! This is the Earth Band. I believe that Chris Thompson is the best vocalist the band has ever saw and ever will see. They now have Noel McCalla on vocals, but he doesn't have the touch that Thompson does.

this song is the best song from manfred mann
astradragon1985 3 years ago
the picture you chose shows Manfred Mann in the older days but not the Earthband - all this has nothing in common with Davys on the road again

Spring '78 Just about to leave school, free at last! I love the female vocal part of the song and the slightly warped synth that goes with it.

A great track, takes me back to better times!!
Still holds it's own today. A true classic that largely goes unnoticed.
I remember taping the 'Watch' album onto reel-to-reel in the seventies & still have the recording today.
A good quality sound, thanks for posting.

Just great one of the best of the sixties bands always thought they were fantastic and Paul Jones had a great vocal on this one.

This isn't the sixties "Manfred Mann", it's Manfred Mann's Earth Band! And the vocalist is Chris Thompson.
jedimaster1987 4 years ago 8
Thanks for the correction. This is about '77 / '78?
p6ulo 4 years ago 4
Yes, it's the live version published on "Watch" in '78 mixed up with the studio single.

Respect to you Jedimster. I never knew that. Chris Thompsons vocals rock! Good guitar work to.
