hey simon, it was great fun making this with u! :) wanna come round tomorrow? jill's cooking up a barbeque. anyways, i see you have lots of views on your videos especially "Dreaming Commuter"!!! i'll speak to you tomorrow. cheers, eric.
WTF animuser, I leave a legitimate question and a compliment and my comment gets deleted?
I wouldn't care but someone replied to my question apparently and I was confused because I couldn't find it.
ANYWAY... good luck with your animation degree! I was interested in that sort of thing as well, but figured it would be too difficult and i wouldn't be able to handle its enormous potential to contribute to society, so i went into biomolecular engineering instead.
Contribute to a society that shuns it's own?... Yeeaah... No... Not me, anyways. I just want to tell stories, and I prefer to do that through the animation outlet. Sorry if my life isn't as important as you science folks. But as long as we love what we do, right? (I'm just responding under the impression that your being sarcastic. If I'm wrong, sorry. Us animation folk obviously have half the intelligence of someone like yourself.)
Nah, man. I was just irritated (and who knows, maybe my original post was only accidentally deleted) when I wrote that. Definitely no offense intended to 'animation folk.'
To put things into context even, I'm a great appreciator of all art in general (which is why I was originally watching this video), and I'll be failing a biochemical thermodynamics exam tomorrow because I've been doing too much other stuff I love lately.
BTW atomicbuck3t, I took the time to reply to you (I really do have a lot of work to do, I promise) because I've actually visited your page before and quite enjoy the work you do. I look forward to future videos of yours.
Yeahhh... so it occurred to me that you're most likely not actually Don Hertzfeldt. Well good job posting the videos anyway. Alright, I'm gonna stop spamming this page now.
Excuse my ignorance regarding animation technique, but do you have to redraw ever part of every frame that makes the animation? I ask because in your 'Dreaming Commuter' video, scenes like when the train is passing by some buildings have quite a lot of detail, and it seems like it would take absolutely forever to redraw the scenery over and over.
yeah, it takes a very long time to do, i have done the same things, (i havnt posted them yet) and it is very difficult to do and it takes a lot of patience and detail for even very small parts, like the fly on the end; you only see it for about a split second but you can see how much detail there is.
that was really really neat... I love it. I want to redo my first one... it is too rough and I didn't do enough frames. where did you learn to do this?
I just started an animation degree so I'm really lucky I get top advice and equipment...but I didn't do enough frames at first - the amount of work is a bit mind boggling what!?
NICE ;)
