Oh boo the fuck hoo. Those women choose that line of work for themselves. You dress and act like a flaming whore and that's how people will treat you. That's life, deal with it.
uhh not really Kane. How do you figure we choose all that.Maybe thats the way of the world but your comment show how insentive guys are. This from a man who used to wear a mask?
They might have chose those careers, but that isn't the argument. The argument is how women and men are portrayed into negative, rigid gender roles through the media. People are not standing up against the stereotypes and terrible, objectifying messages we suffer from.
It is about both genders. We all would benefit by seeing our gender portrayed in non-stereotypical ways. Every life matters and depression is a serious concern for all young people in U.S. 25% of high schoolers consider suicide. And you are right that more males carry suicide out--more females attempt it.
To be thorough, let me say that I like feminism, I like the idea of rethinking society now that we are beyond the days of cave men.
I just think it should be about BOTH genders. How come you discuss the effect this media has on women, but not on men? What damage does it do to little boys to feel an expectation to dominate as many beautiful women as he can, otherwise he is gay or unworthy?
This is a great point, there are countless pressures placed on men in society, while they aren't as objectified as we are they actually have just more pressure to be successfull make money and be tough macho guys
"At the age of 9 girls felt confident positive and assertive about themselves. But by the time they reach high school, less than a third felt that way."
Also at age 9 the suicide rates between boys and girls are equal, but by high school, boys kill themselves four times as often. Whose gender role is more demanding? The one where you have to be pretty? Or the one that says that the death of a million men in a war is glorious?
Our lives dont matter. Our suffering doesnt even register.
Actually, you don't have to look very hard to find examples of men cleaning toilets or mopping floors and you don't have to look very hard to find examples of men in non-sexual relationships with women.
So get real. If you're convinced the "evil patriarchy" is out to get you, you'll no doubt find evidence of it everywhere under every rock.. There's help for that you know.
Sorry, but women shown on TV does not lead to rape...

Most unintentionally hilarious feminist video ever!
Somebody clearly has a toilet-cleaning domination fetish. :)

This whole video is feminist propaganda nonsense.

I see --it is hard to imagine male characters cleaning a toilet isn't it? That proposition alone is "feminist propaganda nonsense." I see.
