I have one of these. It was a pretty nice little system. I played SNK vs Capcom on it a lot. I have lost the cover for the watch battery, though.

Actually you can pause Metal Slug 2, you have to hold down the option button... :p Great review!

The cardboard boxes are pretty cool, but yeah, here in Europe we had the plastic cases, which were somewhat modelled after the home-Neo-Geo game cases.

I have Biomotor Unitron, Dark Arms, King of Fighters, Match of the Millennium, Metal Slug 2nd Mission, Pocket Tennis Color, Samurai Shodown 2, Card Fighters Clash, and Sonic. Most are pretty good.

What do you have for it? I could go for something new.

Definitely a GBA. It has a better library. But if you ever have a few extra bucks after, a NGPC is a pretty cool alternative.

Picked up a loose used of one of these at the CCAG (Classic Console and Arcade Gaming) show here in Cleveland during Memorial Day weekend for $15. Looking up stuff on Youtube about it is how I came across your site. Love this system (it's all about the click stick) and your videos. Keep up the good work!

Youre right about the Turbo Express tvandlust, I got my Turbo Express for like 130 I think. Theres a couple on ebay now in the box. By the way, great Video! Ive got 4 NGPC's almost every color.....

Another good job covering a handheld console. This is one of my favorites. Bulky, yes, but suprisingly comfortable to hold. I own a few of them and many of the games for it and for having a small library (about 85 games if you count both domestic and import titles) there are very few bad games, just some better than others. I'd say the gambling games were generally the weakest, but the rest is superb.

Very good review your to the point and you kept my interest. hows it when you play sidescrollers w that joy pad? yeah do the review on the games. Im doing my researh on the system cause I want a retro hand held. im a tg16 fanatic but it would be cool to have a neo geo with capcom vs snk or fatal fury.

Thanks! Side scrollers take a moment or two to get used to, but they work great with the thumb stick if you ask me.

I'd like to get a TG16 myself, specifically a TurboExpress because I like collecting handhelds, but they are incredibly expensive as far as classic handhelds go. Very painful.
