How can we know for sure that technology innovation can develop much faster when we work together or not, when we have never tried it before?
Ignorance seperates everyone, especially between China and the USA (NASA). Why can't we all just be friends? China, USA (NASA), Japan, Russia, Germany, etc... all be friends, all working together.
If this becomes reality... we would be heading into the TRUE SPACE AGE in no time, where were can finally travel through space.
Throughout history, it is proven that through competition, especially in times of war, excels the development of new tecnologies... Take a look at World War I for instance... Our modern planes would not of been introduced so early if it weren't for the war. Planes, tanks... all of these technologies help develop other new advance tech.
However, this is because of people against people... but what about WORKING TOGETHER?

@Dragonphotographic, I think you're wrong. First of all, ever since they started their space program, Chinese are going steady and methodically. They don't rush anything. Even this module's purpose is just a docking test, not a permanent base for a station. This is not a cheap way of doing things. Besides, I think Chinese government would hate to see something go wrong (read: lose their face in front of the whole world) so I seriously doubt they will neglect quality.
There is something wrong with this picture. NASA is grounded, yet China is advancing into space rather quickly. WWIII will officially start outside the atmosphere. If China gets ahead of the U.S. in space we are doomed. I am pretty certain that this is what drove the Bush Doctrine on Preemption. Our current administration has worked tirelessly to dismantle the missile defense shield and our nuclear weapons program. Kind of reminds me of "The Hundred Days of the Dragon."

@rashidhumine I am sure you are aware of the weaponization of space. For years the U.S. space program was conducting dual missions. There were science and discovery as well as military components. Often times, the science purpose had to piggy-back on the military and intelligence platforms that were placed in space and vice versa. One thing is clear, NASA was primarily used to deliver these assets into space. If we allow an enemy a strategic foothold our bargaining power decreases.

My 73YO Dad is convinced he was on the NASA space missions during the 60s/70s, telling everybody who cares to listen about his amazing experiences “flying all the way to the moon”.
Unfortunately last year a local teacher believed him & brought him into school to talk to the kids. Only after c.15mins did she realise Dad was spouting rubbish- the kids had begun to laugh when he started shouting about “dancing with lovely moon angels”. There is something wrong with this picture. NASA is grounded, yet China is advancing into space rather quickly. WWIII will officially start outside the atmosphere. If China gets ahead of the U.S. in space we are doomed. I am pretty certain that this is what drove the Bush Doctrine on Preemption. Our current administration has worked tirelessly to dismantle the missile defense shield and our nuclear weapons program. Kind of reminds me of "The Hundred Days of the Dragon."

@rashidhumine I am sure you are aware of the weaponization of space. For years the U.S. space program was conducting dual missions. There were science and discovery as well as military components. Often times, the science purpose had to piggy-back on the military and intelligence platforms that were placed in space and vice versa. One thing is clear, NASA was primarily used to deliver these assets into space. If we allow an enemy a strategic foothold our bargaining power decreases.

My 73YO Dad is convinced he was on the NASA space missions during the 60s/70s, telling everybody who cares to listen about his amazing experiences “flying all the way to the moon”.
Unfortunately last year a local teacher believed him & brought him into school to talk to the kids. Only after c.15mins did she realise Dad was spouting rubbish- the kids had begun to laugh when he started shouting about “dancing with lovely moon angels”. When parents found out some demanded he be prosecuted!
