  • @stevengolfs, you said a mouth full, and I concur, this is a masterpiece of timeless proportions. makes me want to hit the highway, with just me and my music and the sun in my face! I too, thank you for the post.

  • i cant believe it i buy your long play 34 years ago and still sounds great your voice the musicians your brhother in the piano make the most beatiful music gino vanelli number one singer fan number one larrock from mexico

  • "Gino Wonderful"... one piece like this I can say finish to the music, because in it I find everythings: classic, jazz, rock, samba, opera teatrale, high low,low and high, melody harmony, ritme! An Universal music made from vertical-orizzontal feeling & emotional state, with strong concentration of interpretation.God bless!!!!

  • I listen to this and I hear:

    1. Key changes...

    2. Tempo changes...

    3. Dynamic changes...

Now listen to a modern pop song and realize what's missing...;)

  • with every step and every breath....that part is SO smooth!! love that part

  • with So much time from the past.. Our future looks . ,. , .

  • I play it from time to time , to remind myself

  • Way underrated. One reason is that he's rated by his Corporate 80's work rather than this breakthrough fusion work of the 70s.

  • I`m looking back from 53 to where I was in a restraunt at 19, wondering where I`d be at 35...

  • When i want to wake up , and get back into the race , of this life ! I listen to this song ! It;s only in the making of a men , which delivers us from the boy inside us all ! I love this feeling of new hope i get , when i listen through the years of life !

  • I can hear this song over, over and over again!! No one else like Gino Vannelli!

  • Saw Him Concert And Boy Can He Sing.

  • @hartness1248 you seen him recently? or back in the day?

  • I love my Gino Vannelli, had all his albums, saw him in concert and just blew me away, Sexy Babe!...I'm still a fan of his.

  • One of the biggest artistic impressions ever made upon me. I was lucky to be able to appreciate and understand at an early age. And now... I can honestly say that there may not have ever been a full week pass over the last 40 years when I haven't thought of this chart at least once. Thank you for posting it to the site for all of us to enjoy and experience.

  • He is sooo underrated, that's why his special

  • Vannelli Brothers are today's answer to Mozart / Bach / Beethoven... the music will live on long after we are GONE

  • WOW I HAVE NOT LISTEN TO THIS IN A WHILE! I NEVER REALIZED HOW POIGNANT THIS SONG IS! GINO (DARE I REPEAT WHAT EVERYONE ELSE SAYS) IS A GENIUS! WHEN I FIRST HEARD GINO SING THIS SONG I WAS 19 AND DID NOT WANT TO THINK PAST THAT, HAVING CROSSED THOSE MILESTONES, LIKE IN THE SONG I FINALLY, REALIZE HOW FLEETING IS LIFE AND YOUTH! GINO, HOW PROFUND OF YOU TO WRITE TO A SONG WITH SUCH INSIGHTS AT A YOUNG AGE! GOOD JOB GINO, THIS IS ONLY PART OF YOUR LEGACY TO MUSIC!

  • My all time fave Gino Vanelli song. Saw him do it in three different concerts & was blown away each time. Talent to the max. This guy has no match.

  • Avery`s Restraunt 1978 coming over the intercom speaker by the ice machine. It`s getting closer to one than eleven and I put down my bustub and take pause of my 19 yr. old life as the last of the paralegals leave the for the night. I still love the 1970`s, Ameretto Sours and copper topped bar counters...

  • In my humble opinion this is one of the greatest musically arranged songs ever recorded. With this song you not only listen to it, you experience it. Unbelievable!

  • Another amazing Jay Graydon solo.

  • Man, Artist just don't make music like this anymore...u know, the dude had lyrics, melody and crescendo. Just smooth. That's called being in the recording studio for a reason....to make music people who enjoy good music...not noise.

  • it is one of a million.. for me it´s a classical piece of music .. hard core jazz, smooth jazz, easy listening, it´s all there..

  • stormatsunup are you serious??? Wow! Were you able to sit still? I could not. I thought, "Oh well, since Gino is singing and dancing. I might as well dance, sing and enjoy too!" I stood the whole time.

  • stormatsunup, I just saw Gino on Oct. 20 at the Alberta Rose. I doubt if I ever find words to express the experience!

  • I always listen to Gino's music (especially) in the car. This AM, was a bit different while traveling on the Interstate 5 North. Gino was on max volume (as usual). This track was playing. As Gino held the final note, THE CAR SHOOK!! I thought DAMMNN GINO! It wasn't Gino. It was an earthquake. So, now I tell everyone GINO's voice caused the earthquake. "I'll never change nor cease to sail the sky, Till the day I die." Gino continues to fulfill this prophecy daily! BRAVISSIMO!!!

  • The drummers name on this is GRAHAM LEAR...BAD ASS DUDE.

  • @briank46 You got that right!

  • The most awesome performer of all time. I've seen GINO since the 70'a. Just saw him Oct. 8 at Seneca Casino in Niagara Falls. The man still is awesome!!! He takes my breath away. However I'm still partial to the synthesizers, but he can sing anything..BRAVO GINO!!

  • @stormatsunup

Ha, and I was one seat away from you !!!!

  • Underrated Artist!

  • Gino music is for everybody , but not everybody could understand them,

lucky for people who can feel and like them , it's about life as human being .., where am i going ,??

  • LUV LUV LUV IT!!! Dammmmnnnn GINO!!! Just prior to his Las Vegas show, Gino told a reporter, he spends his time between his home in the Portland area and Holland. All I want to know is.....WHERE DOES HE GET HIS WATER??? What a voice!! Thanks for posting!! :)

  • Gino and Joe!

Time for a retro show. Been a long time. Saw McCartney in TO... played 38 songs without a mere few sips of water and covered the whole genre. Brilliant and amazing.

The absolutism of Joe/Gino could fill the ACC for at least 1 night.

Imagine; the songs like this very one/the brilliance/the what it's got/the feel/the memories/the absolute work that would be involved from Gino and Joe/ and least ot not, the hair. Bring em back Gino!

  • thank you for posting This brings back my roots great music he always had the best drummers long live Gino.

We use to do LSD as young rock musicians and the only thing that we would really like to listen to was Gino

The Gist of the Gemini storm at sun up out standing poly phonic synthesizer before it was ever manufactured that took a lot of tracks in the studio to get those key board blends Joe is a genius

  • A little bit of alot, great download.

  • love it

  • amazing I cant believe I stumbled on this I lost my Great Collection of music after leaving the SF Bay area

    thanks post more

we need to start a gino fan club again

  • Thank you Mr. Vannelli for blessing us so many years with your fabulous music !!

  • This is one of my all time favorite songs. Through the years, I've played this album many, many times with my headphones on so that I don't miss any part of this brilliant masterpiece. After over 30 years, this song is just as powerful as it ever was. To say that it was ahead of its time would be a gigantic understatement! Gino and his brother Joe on keyboards were on the ground floor of Smooth Jazz. Thank you very much for posting.

  • @stevengolfs I remember, too, as a pre-teen listeing to the Lp on the Kenwood headphones at my uncle's home. Today, I have the whole of Gino's cd catalog. My uncle passed away now, but I cherish him for introducing me to Gino when I a was a young teen. Now anytime I listen to Gino, I can't help but think of my uncle. Gino ROCKS!

  • @stevengolfs Perfectly said!!! I was raised on Gino!!!!! I wish radio stations played this MASTERPIECE!!!!

  • @stevengolfs

"Where am I Going?" is one of my all-time favorites. It brings me back to my youth (I'm six months older than Gino) yet reminds me how my life has shot by me. Yes, "I will never cease to sail the skies until the day I die."

    Thank you Gino.

  • @stevengolfs... I know you meant well, but you mention Gino's name and Smooth Jazz in the same Sentence. Smooth is nothing more then elevator music. The Corprate radio stations made Fusion music realy Comercial sounding, then they called it smooth Jazz....Gino is a Master

  • @stevengolfs

    AMEN !!!

  • @stevengolfs - My story is a ditto of yours regarding this transcendent music.

  • what strikes me about this song is he wrote it when he was so young, talking about growing older! He's so talented...there is no one like him in the world! God Bless Gino!

  • buddy brisbois, the late trumpeter also remade this at one of his final concert comebacks just weeks before his untimely death from a suicide in 1978.

  • Gigi babe > i dunno know where ur going but can i come. I'm a good driver and drve a car with soul. Sillyheart21 > u tube > Breathe of u. Nuff said. Throwing frisbeez out into the universe. C'mon boyfriend catch one and see what the girl of rock has to say to you and show u a piece of ur soul that u didnt know existed. Uh huh. from ur little Italian/Jew fro of the 80's that lured me in (Wild Horses> wtf were u trying to kill me there? i cud hardly breathe when that song played lol~)

  • this song just kicks some serious ass

  • Great voice!

  • I love this song very much.

    Youth goes away, be happy.

  • Te amo Gino

  • Great work from a great creator.

  • we are just passing by , a stop for drink sweet and bitterness of life ... keep awarness and celebrate it..

  • Been a big Vanelli fan since I was a teenager back in the 70's. I know that in recent years he also did some work with certain jazz groups like the Yellow Jackets etc. Thanks for the post!

  • 77eagleboy - KY102 in KC! totally remember the day! KBH in Australia

  • Who's the guitar player?

  • Jay Graydon is the guitar player--great L.A. studio session player. He also co-wrote Earth, Wind and Fire's classic "After the Love is Gone" with Maurice White, for which he won a Grammy in 1979.

  • beautiful song and gorgeous man (esp. in the '80's)

  • Musicianship to the maximum. Bravo!

  • Great tune. This guy is one of the most underrated performers. He is extremely talented, yet he never seemed to get the recognition he deserved.

  • What can you say....just TOP musicianship and playing.....

    What a Band !

  • graham lear, graham lear, graham lear, ,!!!!!

What a beautiful player. Every drummer that plays this tune should have to play his part because it's a part of the song, the music. It's integral

  • When I hear this song I think of my brother Paul...it sooo depicts the life he led.....I only wish he could have lived until 80....he loved Gino................cacorne

  • the BEST SONG EVER off the BEST ALBUM EVER.........that says it all.........jc

  • Grat song, great arrangement. Didn't know this was Gino Vannelli!!

  • Lo mejor que he escuchado en los 70 y principio de los 80, es bueno saber que todavia anda rodando, espero que venga a Atlanta

  • All my Mexicans and Latino friends. Does it get any better than this?

Increible Gino.Greetings from Miami.

  • My cousins in St.Louis hooked me up listening to Gino in '78. It been all good since then!

  • Gino ALWAYS ahead of his time in all respects!!!

I salute my "Knight of Romance" with all due respect from a heart forever attentive and moved by his great artistic passion in Mexico City!

    Minerva from Mexico.

  • I can relate to this song much more now that I'm 49! "I'll live how I feel 'cause no matter how fast or how slow, youth will go...". Yes, our lives on this planet are tragically short. Make the most of it, there's so much to feel, do and see in such little time.

  • @MrNoupie

You´re so right! Sometimes I wonder why mankind allways think there is something after this earthlife? Think if it´s an illusion only and this `short´ life is the only you´ve got? This songlyrics are telling me something.

Nevertheless , I have as you wrote, also taken life in to another prospective. life is short... just too short

  • living inside myself and i just wanna stop are great songs..Geno has so many powerful songs and this is one of them. I remember this song in the 70's as a young kid now that im older this song really relates........i will grow to the age of......51, in such little time. Gino is so cold blooded. Try motor city love affair.

  • Gino could never be a mere man, he is one of the must truly talented singers ever, don't hate just appreciate the music

  • Saw him in Canada 6 mos ago..when he talked about all the women he had in the 70's,,,my god fell from his pedisal..Gino is just a mear man....sorry for thinking anything else. Got to love the tunes though

  • To anyone, I am new to Gino so can anybody recommend me any albums I should listen or buy....I have heard other songs from him like "living inside myself" and "I just wanna stop" I think he is great.

  • yes, powerful people, storm at sunup, gist of the gemini, pauper in paradise, brother to brother [his best album] night walker, yonder tree, these are the days, and check out his latest release on you tube, the measure of a man, awesome awesome awesome, enjoy, yours truley, capt. kirk gino vannelli lover lol

  • Start with Live in Montreal then buy every album up to Nightwalker because in my opinion they're works of art!! ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

  • Black Cars, Storm at Sunup, Brother to Brother

  • "Will I be strong or barely keep alive when I'm thirty-five",I wonder what he thinks of this lyric at 56! Gino is amazing!

  • Fantastic!

  • Go Graham Lear!! Although that is not at all to detract from Gino and his perfectionist song writing prowess!

  • Encore une merveille digne d'un orchestre philarmonique !

  • Wow,brings me back!

  • 30 years ago (from my perspective) Gino was singing about future issues, i was 17 years old and enjoyed the music but did not experiece what the lyrics were really about. Now, as I age, I have grown into realizing through life experience what Gino was singing about years ago. Now that i'm farther from youth, closer to death..I can roll out this song during my life experiences to revisit what Gino was expressing years ago....his music is so dramatic and real....

  • I agree with you, now at my 41 i have complete understand what Gino says in this song that sometimes when i hear it makes me cry, well this is life.

  • Just got back from seeing Gino in Vegas 11/9, the man is so freaking talented, so timeless, why was he not more popular? I just don't get it! I can listen to the old music from 30 years ago and it still sounds fresh and moving. What a rare, rare man he is. I am a fan and apostle for life of the talent of Gino V!

  • @spideyfan36 this is my favorite song. I think I've heard it about 28 years.

  • @spideyfan36 He had a time he was filling up 15000 seat area's . I saw him in one. Disco got big and cut into his momentum. But I agree with you.

  • I had this album and I remember losing my job and wondering "Where am I Going" but listening to Gino made me feel like every thing's gonna be al rite.

  • The comments on this page clearly demonstrate that Gino's artistry is timeless.

  • I've really liked this song ever since it came out when I was in college. Thank you very much for posting it. For a long time, the Walter Farina cover version was the only one on YouTube. It isn't bad, but it isn't as good as the original.
