I use my old Singer treadle sewing machine as my computer desk, with the sewing head folded away. I treadle for the exercise, but it would be cool to be able to charge my macbook by treadling!

is it worth charging inverter/UPS batteries with this setup?
instead of building the generator by hand. can we use an alternator, from a car maybe?
I guess i am trying to store the electricity. If people spend maybe an hour or 2 on this. instead of finding some other way to burn those calories.
