but the problem with it is you can't go up to 1920*1080 the supported Resolution are: 640x480,720x480,768x576, 800x600,1024x768,1280x720,1280­x1024,1360x768, 1366x768,1440x900,1600x1200,16­80x1050

so you will not get 1080p until USB3 era

the quality of the graphics depends on how you connect the ps3 to the laptop, in this video i used regular composite cable so the quality was online 480i but i would expect that having a bad graphics card might play a role in the video quality but in all, having an amazing graphics card vs a shitty one wont necessary mean that you while have better graphics if you both are using the same connection cables

Most laptops have HDMI outputs even £1000+ gaming ones. Also, he may need his laptop for different purposes ie: I myself have a £300(refurb-worth £450-£500 new) ultraportable that I bought for battery life and a basic dual core CPU
