You said atheists need more faith that you could ever have; by the context of what you were saying, I think you meant to say "courage", not "faith". You had just been going on about how afraid you were of not existing anymore & how much you didn't like that idea. But it doesn't take faith to face that possibility - it takes courage & strength of character.
Also, most people don't walk around being scared to die. If you have a disease or something that's a different story but most people realize it's a part of life.
It's also very selfish to want to live forever. I think deep down most religious people are very selfish and petty.
Most stable people do not have this god shaped hole you speak of. I've been an athiest since 12 and before then had been agnostic even though I went to church twice a week. I have never done drugs, smoked or drank alchohol. I drank a few times and tried weed when I was young just for experience and each time I realized the other people doing it were sheep. If you look your whole life to follow something you will find something to follow but you'll never be a leader of others or even yourself.

Of course you can believe anything you want. More power to you.
But, I as an Atheist don't feel any God shaped hole.
As far as I can tell I'm just as content as any Christian.
So, what have I done to fill this? If a person has genuine self-respect why should they need to fill a hole with God?
Also consider that, say, a Hindu would say his hole is filled with God.
Does that mean the hole can be filled with false Gods?
If so, how do you know you haven't filled your hole with a false God?
