@TheWizziwizz It's nice to hear from the original crew who made the demo :) Listening to the video there does seem to be 4 distinct tracks at play (and seems how I remember it also) plus if the stereo didn't record properly it would be missing 2 tracks. Unfortunately don't have the original machine to compare against.
For the tech specs: real-time 3D, and jello objects. Real time video, with what i call vector delta packing (vectorized video, rendered as difference of frames, like mpeg, just way before mpeg! ;-))
SWAMP here. I did the code... My last real piece of decent code i guess. The good old times when 3D actually had to be coded in software! Thanks for uploading this!
Hello, thanks you Woodlandspirit for uploading this video. Actually, I was the author of this average soundtrack... and poor dancing. Actually I am not sure for the poor dancing as we were 3 to try dancing behind the camera. We tried to mimics the spaceball demo on amiga but... not a bit success ;-).
The demo itself runs on a computer that was avaliable in the early 90s known as the 'Atari STE' (successor to the Atari STFM), plenty of information avaliable on the system if you look about.
@WoodlandSpirit Specifically it ran on the STe in PAL mode and required no less than 4MB of RAM, which was the most you could get at the time... I watched this demo with a good buddy when were in 'the scene' when this demo was released. ^^;
@WoodlandSpirit Really? Of course there were no 'specs' released with the demo, just the action. Interesting to learn it could run on less ... having 4MB of RAM was such a big deal back then, and that wasn't even good memory compared to the TT's 'fast ram'.
And blitter background motion. By the way, it all fits on one diskette, and runs on Falcon too.
By the way, it sounds to me that there is a track missing on the music, maybe the stereo didn't record.

@theliquidstupid I do remember it running quite happily on my 2 Meg STe so less than 4 Meg was possible.
