Actually you really cant define the potential of a voice by its highest range, it is very hard for most women to sing low. Singing low needs a very good breath control and is very nice to listen to in my opinion <3 I can listen to her voice for houers if I hear a real high voice I can only listen to one or two songs then its annoying =)

The fact that she embraces her lower, contra-alto voice makes her unique since not many pop stars have it, and it's my own personal opinion that it sounds wonderful.

From a vocalists perspective she can sing alright live, but her timing is off. I'm not sure if she did that on purpose or not. Most pop singers often sing flat live, and she does but she kinda makes up for it. I'm still a fan of katy perry btw :)

What's the point of performing LIVE if you sound exactly like the CD? From a vocalists perspective she can sing alright live, but her timing is off. I'm not sure if she did that on purpose or not. Most pop singers often sing flat live, and she does but she kinda makes up for it. I'm still a fan of katy perry btw :)

What's the point of performing LIVE if you sound exactly like the CD? I don't mean that artists should change themselves for a performance specifically, but if you don't allow -some- change to seep into your songs, especially when you perform multiple times a week, not only does it become boring but your sound becomes polished to a point where there's no reason to pay $60+ for a ticket to hear a song live when you could hear it at home.

I noticed when she sings live she does that yodeling thing a lot. Her voice is very rough, hoarse, and squeaky in this performance.
