  • I also had been singing this song (wrong) to my daughters for years until I saw it here and recalled how it really went. Thanks.

  • Funky indeed! This is early Sesame Street's means of combining words in unique ways that leave impressions that last many years! Another clip that's Delightful, Dandy, and Deserving of my praise!

  • I Don't think that we should put cuss words on this site anywhere and don't you DARE! Cuss me Out!

  • Yeah Acid Trip

  • A great song & memory from the classic yrs of Sesame Street.

  • This song has popped in and out of my head throughout the years. It was a weird song.

  • omg I have been wondering about that song for years.

  • Wow, for years I had this tune in my head about having a drink of water with tadpoles!! Now I remember! Thanks for posting this!!

  • WOW!!! This was my favorite clip of all!!! Thank you!

  • this one never bothered me when i was younger. it's one of my fav SS cartoon clips. it's on that "old school" vol dvd set twice.

  • Sesame Street was sooooo creative. Now It's just a show for kids that will never learn.

  • It's true gem seriously left with Jim Henson...........sadly Henson isn't even on the label for all his movies and shows anymore........now it's disney. Or Sesame Workshop.

  • Thanks! This was one of my faves!

  • Ahhh... memories! This was one of my faves! Thanks for posting!

  • I have never forgotten this...and it was some thirty years ago. There was this sad, haunted feeling that came over me whenever I recalled "Little dolly, go to bed..." with the father's echoing, fading voice, and the doll becoming more and more distant. It was almost as if I were in the process of losing my own, ideal father somehow...the way I imagined that he should have been but never really was, and to then have him taken away from me.

  • this brings back my childhood memories. Thanx!!

  • The image of the dandelion and ducks with ears haunted me forever and now I know where it came from. Yay!

  • Wow! So you guys too! Thats the reason I searched for it today. As a little boy, it also gave me goosebumps and caused nightmares. The tune & imagery always haunted me. & here some decades later it blows me away to read that it had that same affect on others.

  • Oh sweet Jesus. This can only be explained by the abuse of hallucinogenic drugs.

  • I don't know what those cats who wrote this were smokin, but I love the song! Thanks for posting this classic Sesame Street clip!

  • I really loved it then, and I really love it now! The words are funny, but I always loved it!

  • I remember this. It was freaky to watch, but I can't say it gave me nightmares.

There was one particular classic Sesame Street clip that no one has posted yet, that...if someone does post it, THAT one freaks me out. It's a stop-motion animation with two freaks about brushing your teeth.

  • I am glad to know I am not the only one who was utterly spooked by this ckip as a kid...yet somehow I loved the melody, even if the pics and lyrics gave me the willies.

  • HOLY SH** BALLS! This scared the BO-JEEEZUS out of me as a little girl. I still have to watch this holding my hand over my eyes and peeking through my fingers.

  • This video gave me nightmares as a child. Watching it now as an adult might give me a chance to heal.
