first of all Julian is a MONSTER!!! What a great surfer... About slater, well he would get a 8.0 just for padling on a wave, sthill the best surfer in the world and I hope he wins the world title again and retire while he is on his top game... Gabriel is such a complete surfer, if he surfs that well at places like Pipe, Tchops and Cloudbreak he will win several world titles as Slater said... Watch out for Brazil`s next generation of surfers such as Miguel, Jesse, Jadson and many others...

also, thank you Quiksilver for this video. wondeful to see Gabriel Medina's family, his father and, hopefully, if it was, his mother. the beauty of surfing includes the flexibility of the ocean which gives youth the power to nurture innovation. Wayne Lynch, MR, Cheyne Horan, Curren, Occy, Pottz, Archie, Kelly and the rest were youth that left their mark on the sport as youth

Gabriel Medina deserved to win. He went for the craziest manouvers and was lucky enough to complete them. Well paid off! Hats off to Julian (what a great surfer), Jordy and Taylor for their performances and sportsmanship. Kelly is still the best and will be world champion again: time to be smart and retire. Surfing needs new heroes and a new shine.

wonderful final day & final, to see fresh talent. the talent of these youthful men added so much life into this world tour, with its same old faces. for Julian, the speed & technique of that cutback (in Jordy's face) was amazing. he is so good. for Gabriel, his dexterity & talent is very rare. his surfing is graceful, relaxed & natural. for Kelly, he seems takes competition so seriously, to the point where he overwelmed himself rather than enjoyed himself surfing. top day of surfing for viewers
