Most of his covers were done pre-epic/CBS records when they were at motown (ain't no sunshine, who's loving you) where they had very little control over what music they could have on their album e.g they didn't allow them to have music they wrote on any of their albums. The only song that I can think of that MJ done a cover on post-motown was Come Together.

He did like Elvis.. and even married his daughter! But yeah, this isn't an Elvis track. Although MJ did do covers - The Beatles' Come Together for example. And The Jacksons used to cover people like Sly and the Family Stone quite a bit earlier on.. and on the Variety TV shows they did, they'd cover various people..

Don't forget Who's Lovin You was originally a Smokey Robinson track.. and as the Jackson 5, they did several others also..

i know right, jackson5 off the wall vicotry destiny and triump tour were truly mjs golden days. I love his thriller days to, and actually all the way to THIS IS IT, but pre thriller was the pure natural unharmed MJ.

And actually they later changed the name from Heartbreak hotel to "This place hotel". Maybe to cut down confusion dunno but Mike definitely wrote the lyrics. Don't it sound like something he would pen?

This is michael's song..not elvis's the only thing that is the same is the title.Their company later renamed it "this place hotel"bcuz ppl kept thinkin it was from elvis..Mj wrote this himself..cant u just hear his type of composition in de song?..lol..i understand de mixup though
