hey im wrong its not drop c its drop d youre right...but the chords youre playing are making it alot harder, if you tune your E to a d it makes it easier to play this song

you hold your pick close to the edge and you tilt your pick to be at about a 45 degree angle to the string and you kind of try to slice through the string making sure to lightly touch the string with the side of your thumb.
