Altogether I have had 9 stubble quail. last batch was five. 2 were killed by other birds and 2 were killed by injury. (head trauma) from an bird attack. which left us with one for over a year by herself. sadly she died yesterday. i let her out in the dirt and garden as usual. sat and watched. she ran to her favourite spot and lay down on her side. after bout 20-30 secs i noticed she wasn't movin, went over and she was dead (eyes closed, still warm). Ill remember all my quail always.
do all quails make those squaking noises or specific ones? males/females? please let me know as i made a homemade ccage for them a huge one and i dnt want them to be noisey :( as i cnt have noises where we live.
some makes calls. i just bought 2 today and they are fairly quiet (still adjusting). at the shop, they were fairly quiet as well. not too loud at all. when they do make the calls/cries its decently loud but not enough to go through walls. i only have 2 though, so its probably a lot louder
mine look like those. one type has all those whitish stripes all over their body while the other one doesnt. what does that mean? same species? male femle?
