You have to play and try new things to come up with something great. Are you mad, buddy?! There's no guitar player better at creating nice riffs neither writing awesome solos than Dave Mustaine and Gary Holt. I've been a huge Metallica fan since 1994 but I do admit that Metallica hasn't written anything great since Re-Load, that's a very good album. I like Metallica very much but my liking's not only for them, Megadeth's and Exodus' latest albuns are amazing, they're not forced like Death Magnetic is. Be not a fool speaking bullshit everywhere.

Hetfield wrote nice stuff until the Load era; Mustaine has written nice songs since 1982 when he helped Metallica with The Mechanix, Jump in the Fire, Ride the Lightning, The Call of Ktulu and others.
