hey man, I've been watching all your videos 2nite and i gotta say, very impressive man!!! keep up the good work..im 20 years old and i do some powerlifting myself, i weigh 285 lbs at the moment and i have a prretty good shape, i love the sport..you can be proud of your accomplishment !
Sorry I thought I had responded to your comment. Thanks a lot man I appreciate the good words.I've seen your videos, you're a strong dude. Why did you take your vids down?
I dont know, I didnt like them anymore...old footage..I shouldnt have deleted them..but I have a few new videos now..Im gonna start filming a little more soon.take care man
I'll probably have another video up early next week.I'm trying to get my strength back after a long cold virus.I'll post something moderately heavy.....thanks man!
It's funny u say that because I did widen my grip a little for this workout. On most bars my painkie would be right on the ring.I'm working on widening though....thanks for the comment!
I think your drop down is a tad too fast. I read that the sudden heavy overload can cause the golgi tendon to prevent your chest muscles from contracting to their max potential. If you brought the weight down more controlled, giving your body a split second to prepare, and then exploded after it touches your chest (like Kazamier does), you'd rack it.
Very nice workout, especially that 325x7. I see you do half reps in that burnout set. Is this helping you improve your bench press in lower part of the lift? It seems that sticking point is little bit higher, wouldnt lockout exercises be a better choice? Anyway, for a 225lbs guy, this is more than impresive-respect!
Thanks very much Domago! You're absolutely right my lockout needs work. The 250 was just a pump at the end of the workout.I'm going to start doing heavy lockouts in the rack.
when you bench your elbows kinds go towards ur legs, mine go sidewards as in as horrizontal as the bar i was told im wrong but i cant do it the way u do yet :|
Keeping your elbows close to your sides helps u stay tight and helps u tie into your lats. It also keeps the weak link(the shoulders) out of the movement as much as possible....it helps protect your shoulders. When your elbows are flared out to the sides it forces u to use more chest. That's fine if your a bodybuilder but if your trying to lift as much as possible like a powerlifter than it's not the best way.
Hokey Smokes, Bullwinkle! That 250x18 was sick. I bet you could do about 25 reps with 225, eh?
It would be so fun to workout with you at my gym. Like just today I benched the whole stack on the bench machine for 5 reps, not bad, but you could probably bang out 20 reps! It would just be so fun to see what you could do on the stuff I normally do.
Thanks Mark I ussauly do the leg press because I was afraid if I did squat I would hurt my lower back. What do you think you could squat for 1 rep when you were at your strongest? P.S i't wont be anytime in the near future but I plan on pitting a video on you tube when I think it's truly worth watching when I can bench 300 wich my estimate for that is 8 months.
Damn Mark 500 pounds for reps! I just started doing squats I can do 300 pounds for 11 reps and I weigh 145! This wednesday Im going to try 360 for one!
410 was very close Mark! You should work your back and shoulders and legs a'lot more that would make your bench go up. None the less i't was still very close! Good job my name is Travis by the way.
Thanks Travis I appeciate u watching.Legs are tough for me to work because I have a very bad right knee.I use to squat 500 lbs for reps.I do have to start working back though,I have been slacking off.
fuckin nice try at that, on your next vid can you try to put up 405? ur very close with this but 405 would actually help u get 410, and that burnout set looked agonizing but nice job!

Yeah I usually bring it down slow when I pause but I change when I do touch-n-go.I need to try a little slower.

Great job Mark - you'll get 410 lbs next attempt. Doing 325 lbs for 7 is very impressive; especially after a max effort. Keep at it...

When I was @ my strongest I could squat around 550 lbs for a near parallel squat and 600 lbs for a deep-partial.
That would be cool to see a video from u.
HHH396 3 years ago
Damn Mark 500 pounds for reps! I just started doing squats I can do 300 pounds for 11 reps and I weigh 145! This wednesday Im going to try 360 for one!
strongmann99 3 years ago
Yeah but remember I was weighing around 220 lbs and I have naturally strong legs. For @ 145 lbs that is very strong to be doing 300 x 11.
HHH396 3 years ago

kickenwing30 3 years ago
390 pause should be possible maybe 395...I'll work on it.
HHH396 3 years ago
Thanks buddy,I just have to put in some more work in...I'm very close.Hey Alex if I did the 407 lbs like u said I would've got it : )
