Although the original series is still my favorite, I'm really disappointed that NBC didn't give this revival enough of a chance. I liked the cast, and I think the producer, cast and the entire crew put in a real effort. I enjoyed it--and then bam--it was gone. Maybe it was too expensive.
This show is awesome my sister and I loved this show and years later I still enjoy it, its been playing on the chiller channel and Iv been watching it agin , and I hated when they canceled it years ago, but thats what usully happens to most good TV shows.
.I'm watching on Hulu right now (ep10) and am BLOWN AWAY. For those of you wondering why such a great show was cancelled it was because production got off track due the Gulf War. The lost momentum pretty much
I love this! I'm just getting into this version of the show, and I must say that I'm loving it. I really like Joanna Going. It's neat that she played both Victoria and Josette. Great post!
Oh my god I loved this show I used to stay up and watch it with my aunt when I was in second grade. I loved Joanna Going she was so beautiful as Josette, and Ben Cross was great as well. I ordered the cassette of this series a long time ago, but not sure if I can find them. I so wished they didn't cancel even if they only gave us one more season they stopped the show at such a good part, and never let us know what happend.
Well I'm sure that when Victoria woke up at the end of the final episode and saw Barnabas, she knew that he wasn't a descendant but the original Barnabas.. I just hope that they got together and had a happy ending! But I do wish that there'd been more. Many more.
Ben Cross plays Sarek, Mr Spock's father, in the new Star Trek reboot movie that comes out in April. Should be good.
when Victoria returned from the past and stared at barnabas, the frame froze and that was it. Episode 12. What happened. She didnt remember. Peter said," I will find you" before he was shot at the hanging. He returns to the present as another character and Victoria falls for him while Barnabas finally becomes human but he spark simply isnt there. Thsi is from the original series.
It's a shame NBC didn't give this a chance. It really didn't get the opportunity to thrive. This show could have made Joanna, and other castmates, big stars. Love you Joanna!
I only saw this recently on tv and had to buy the dvd set straight away. I immediately fell in love with Joanna Going as Victoria. She is so incredibly beautiful and sweet in this.
It does for now, but unfortunately it looks like it will be closing in the new year, unless they can find a buyer, at least that is what they said on the news this week.
this version was alot better joanna going was a better victoria winters and josette i loved the music box it was beautiful not like the one in the one with jonathan frid
I have the series on dvd.. it is beautifully done.. I collect the original series as well. I have always loved Josette and Barnabas as lovers.. and the enchanting music box.. thank you for sharing this. Joanna Going is beautiful as Josette
I really enjoyed this series even though it was only 12 episodes long. I do think they should have given it a longer run it would have gahtered a following I'm sure. The actors in this series really were exceptional. And the chemistry was great between Barnabas and Josette.
I watched this Dark Shadows since it started in 1991. I can't believe how they left us hanging at the last show. I've never forgiven them about that because when Ms. Winters goes back to her own time, she knows that Barnabas is a vampire!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG this show! I was the 11 year old loser looking forward to this show all week long. I rememebr him chasing her to the cliff edge and her jumping. I thought it was so romantic and exciting. Sigh. This and that CBS show Beauty and the Beast. Good times.
They were not twins, if I remember correctly. Victoria lived in the 1990's (the THEN present day) and was transported into the past where we find she bares a striking resemblence to the former lover of Barnabus. If anything Victoria was a decendent of Josette.

I think this poor show actually had its premiere episode very close to the night the Gulf War began. Never found its footing and faded. Too bad!

So true, I agree too bad, I really enjoy the show

That's pretty much what happened. It had the ratings, it was just when the war started interrupting the show people lost interest

Joanna Going was a classic custard skinned beauty found in old paintings where women were porcelain and elegant.
