When Jesus returns, all of his martyrs will come back to life and be the world's teachers for a thousand years. They will not fear death. For death will pass them by.
They will rule with Jesus in the temple of God who resides with his people.
As beautiful the music is, and the cover, every time I hear 'imagine there's no possessions, I wonder if you can', and I see Lennon sit at his grand steinway piano in the dacota, overlooking splendind Central Park and the homeless people below, I just want to puke. The song is just as fake as NY with its millionaire wanna-be LI punks wasting some years demonstrating against globalization, until they take over the family enterprise.
i know what you mean, but I don't think its John Lennon's fault that popstars make so much money. Inequality sucks but if youre going to single people out you should start with like politicians.
Politicians are almost all creeps, agreed. But that doesn't change that it pisses me off to see people veggie out in shit expensive places while singing what amounts to the communist manifesto. If you are truly anti-establishment, be like George Brassense and question left AND right, or move to Montana like Jason Lytle. The Lennons and Bright Eyes of the world just preach to the converted. And if someone like Lennon additionally has great talent, it's just a goddam shame.
Ok, this is the Jason Lytle from gradaddy...if i'm not entirely wrong...so of course this should be lovely. His songs have a very similar sentiment, all in being more honest (to my taste).

I can imagine it only when Jesus returns.

Wow. Someone is bitter. When you write 4,384 top ten songs, you can live in Central Park and look out over the homeless people.
You, being the staunch capitalist (apparently) should understand that.
