  • yeah i hate the fuckers

  • How much cost the treatment?

  • I had them since I was born.

  • Any of you who have floaters, especially a lot of them should have them checked. It's always best to make sure when it comes to your health. I got some when I was 19, and I still have them now at 23. They're not serious, but I have them checked regularly.

  • im 15, and they drive me insane, i have a lot and they seem to have just came out of nowhere. If it is a retinal tear or detatchment will they go away after its treated?

  • oh wow, i didn't know 7/10 ppl have floaters haha, now that i don't feel alone lol

  • oh my floaters.... *sigh

  • they should have put some sound effects on this

  • To concluce is eye floater treated by laser? Or kidding ?

  • Those ugly ugly floaters! Kill them all! I love seeing that laser dissolve them!

  • " Alternate names: Light Flashes, Spots in front of eyes, Vitreous Opacities, ,Posterior Vitreous Detachments (PVD).or Floaters. Normal floaters are not dangerous and are caused by tiny specks of tissue inside the vitreous. When light hits these pieces of tissue, it creates shadows on the retina that appear to float across your field of vision. The vitreous space is located posteriorly between the lens of the eye and the retina.

  • My floaters were caused by "pupil dilater drops", please avoid them!!

  • there actually caused by the protien in the back of your eye liquifing(spelling)

  • i understand whats going on. i even know some people who have them too, its common. i agree i heard veggies and natural juices help the eyes but not cure there disorders... here are some tips: 1) use sunglasses esp. when driving. 2) use soft light (the "green" kinds lol) when reading, and don't read so close (keep a foot distance). 3) eat healthier. 4) try getting eye-exams every other year. collab with your eye doctor about the issue. take care!

  • im 19..i i just got my first floater before my birthday..i noticed mine during march break 2007...my birthday is March 30th...i have seen a few more since i will prolly get an appointment to get them checked or whatever it is that they wil do...looks neat how they treat it though

  • is it normal to get eye floaters at 13?

  • yes it is i am 12 and i have them you should go get it checked

  • im 15 and have many

  • yer im 15 and have loads.. bloody anoying wherever i look i have them drifting past my vision distracting me :|

i havnt had them checked out.. no point, the treatment looks very expensive

  • Hey same age. They really suck.

I wonder if it hurts to get them removed? How expensive is it?

  • They range from $300 - $1,600

When they get like THAT, like in this vid, you can permanently go blind. Just stick to the LASIK cure, when they do it without laser and chemicals. It is VERY painful though. 7/10 people have floaters and 90% of doctors tell them to ignore it. Laser is NOT recommended unless its THIS bad...

  • How much of the entire surgery does this represent? No offense but I am having trouble determining the progress. Would you expect that entire white mass to be gone for success ?? Also does this protein evaporate or what ?? cool video, interesting.

  • This video show the cutting of the supporting strands by laser. Most cases take 2 to 4 sessions to really break up a dense opacity. Check out the other video on YouTube

  • hey, i was wondering.. what age can you get this treatment, and does it hurt? hahaha. thanks

  • Hi Scott

    Thank you for posting.

I have had had eye floaters for the last two years.

These floaters are more than simply annoying. They are affecting my day to day life. My question :

By any chance do you know of any specialists in Australia performing these procedures.

    Thank you

    Dan

  • send an email with your specifics through my website vitreousfloaters dot com

  • im a believer in natural cures

  • Wishful thinking....once the protein denatures, it cannot regain its structure. Perhaps nutrition etc. will slow the process, but it cannot reverse it anymore than you can regrow an amputated finger.....Scott Geller MD

  • i agree with newhere. You dont't BELIEVE in natural things cuz natural cures aren't pharmaceutical drugs. There's a natural cure for everything. One word my friend....kombucha. People have been HEALED with it.

  • Sure I believe in botanicals etc. Atropine, scopalamine, pilocarpine, physostigmine, and many antibiotics are from plants and fungi. I believe red yeast rice extract is a better treatment for cholesterol than the statin drugs ( it contains natural statins ). But so far we know of no botanical that can change the protein of the vitreous. But Laser isn't a drug anyway. It's surgery.

  • surgery, drugs same difference. But, how is it that ppl have been HEALED by kombucha? odd...

  • Who knows?? Try it and see if it works. I would suspect that if it was the ultimate panacea, people would not be dead...........!!!

  • Then again....I'm not convinced kombucha can heal a cleft palate, or for that matter, an ingrown toenail. That's why we have surgeons.

  • idc if ur not convinced. it fuckin HAPPENED. what more do u want?

(btw,i hear it can cure just about EVERYTHING. of course you dont believe in natural cures, you're a fuckin surgeon) of course YOU dont believe in natural cures. let me ask you one question; do you believe that the Kevin Trudeau guy speaks the truth about natural cures?

  • Doubt that it cures everything, especially a cleft palate. Or a club foot. Or even baldness. I've read some of the Trudeau book, and as I said, there are many botanicals that we use in medicine. Educate yourself about it. Don't know anyone who drank kombucha tea and eliminated eye floaters. And I've seen thousands.

And a word of advise....when you're in the ER with your guts hanging out from an accident, don't call the MD who'll sew you together a 'fucking surgeon'.

  • I dont understand the hostility from people against surgery, but I for one am glad you took the time to post this video on the net.

  • what the hell are you talkin about

  • Why are you guys so hostile against a proven surgery? Where is the video that shows a persons eyes being cleared of floaters by drinking juice or tea? It's good to be optimistic, but you have to draw the line somewhere. You can't believe everything you "hear".

  • Dr Geller

Have you had any success treating the dark, spot like vitreous syneresis floaters that plague younger people? If not, do you think the laser surgery will improve in the near future to the point where it could treat these types of floaters? Do you think that laser treatment will become more widespread as a treatment option other than the current "live with em" treatment available today?

    Thanks
