I emailed Microsoft and they told me to do an In-Place upgrade with the Vista CD. On the Installation CD, choose "Upgrade" and let it do its job. It won't delete anything you have in your computer, but it's always better to backup everything you have.

It worked for me, and now I got it working.

theres loads of dumb reasons why it wont install,,it could be anti virus software..other parts of vista could be corupt,,even some drivers for chips on intel motherboard can stop it installing,,
