MURRAY GUSSECK IS A LEGEND...BOW TO HIM and those fuckin basses for splittin those sixteenth notes...makes me wanna slap every show style marchin drumline in the nation to be honest hahahaha
yea i said their LAST good year after 2004 it just all wasnt the same any more.. you put russian christmas music next to their 2004 show and tell me it wasnt a dramatic change.i didnt let placement be my decision maker at all.. they placed 3rd that year and they were still my fav..
woooooooooooo! that was the choppiest sh*t i have seen for a long time. these dudes are monsters. ridiculous tag to the exercise too. if you were on this line, you have my sincere respect. check that, if you can play this exercise at that tempo, you have my sincere respect. big ups to scv.
hahahah i saw in the lot live for 2007 DCI CHAMPIONSHIPS and their snare on the far right front line is like casey brohards twin brother... its crazy, look exactly the same HAHAHA
that is pretty FUCKING amazing how the basses split that fast. Must take extreme concentration, along with along of discipline and patience to get it down that good. Talent of coarse as well. They had such a good battery 02'-05'. They have a great battery every year, but this is especially cool!
this is the best scv line ever

they won drums, but this video isn't that good. the basses weren't even hitting all their stuff. the flow is nice, though.

does anyone have the sheet music for this?

'Basic Strokes' on Tapspace. I think it's in several books. Good stuff :0
Also, I LOVE the radial flyer.

ROFL slap them xD

@Rudude37 Splitting 16th notes at that speed isn't that hard. Show style bands are completely different and should be judged as such.
Granted, this is sick :) There are good show bands, too though!

yeah 92, what a show, sloppy but by far the most entertaining at finals, i love the horn ripples in the beginning, and of course the bottle dance

what in the world?
Watch the far left snare when he plays (especially right hand).
paTRICK12358 3 years ago
I'm guessing its to help get those notes out, they're pretty fast for one hand for that of time.

i no wut ur talkin about IHATEPLAID. there were sum similarities 2 13

SCV Bassline makes me proud to be a Bass Drummer =)
revliscrazy 4 years ago
did 13 come from basic strokes???
IHATEPLAID 4 years ago
No. Curt Moore originally wrote Thirteen. Murray Gusseck changed/added some variations. He added Thirteen into Basic Stroke as well.

linxstorm 4 years ago
they had 5...you can see bass #1's right arm, but his drum is behind a snare guy. LoL
drumrdude707 4 years ago
I have never heard a bass line play anything like that...ever. This line consisted of nothing but Jedi Masters.
