  • im a fellow radio board opp. in arms. your vid captures it all so well haha trouble shooting skills that go unseen and macguyvering' fixes on the fly. we are batmen really

  • yeah quit complaining id rather work radio for minimum wage than retail or fast food.

  • Great video! I started a group on FB called Radio Board Operator join up.

  • that radio station looks ghetto. no promotion? yeah, well...people don't respect basketball-shorts kids. ya look fuckin homely!

  • I was board opping 3 stations on overnight a few years back. I, shock of shocks, fell asleep for 1 1/2 hours. For 2 of the stations it was no big deal, BUT, the 3rd station failed to send signal, tone, to the next reel of recorded nostalgic music. Oooops. Well I fixed it and got it up and running again. I got a couple of calls around 3:30 am. It was old people who couldn't sleep complaining that the station was off the air. I miss those nights of playing computer solitaire for 6 hours.

  • haha im a bored op lets just say thair is a lot of down time hahaha

  • -Being tought by the likes of Lou Pozantides and Hadar Sadig.......Tough -Becoming the #1 radio show in Medaille College history, and most likely in the history of radio!.........Tougher -Living in the shawdow of the legendary DJ "Brother Daryl" Rob.....Tougherer -Knowing in the end you have a fufilling carear as a board-op for little to no pay.......WORTH IT!!!
  • I suppose in radio you guys really don't do much. I supposed sound in general isn't much at all. I mean, op. wise. There's no glamorous programming like there is in live event lighting. I mean, being a Sound Designer would be a lot more, but being a sound board op is slightly more glamorous then being a light board op (aka GO monkey).

  • Word. It's been a dream of mine to be a light op or a tv board op. I've worked in radio for over 5 years, and board op was my way in; then I got an on-air position for a little more money, but still shitty hours (midnight - 6am weekends). But knowing that you're driving the energy of an event with a lighting design; now there's a real dream come true.

  • Hi Casey, Enjoyed the board video! Aunt Pat in Florida
