  • Is it me or did the kitty start rocking out and head bobbing at 1:40?

  • the cat is the secret to good tone

  • Can I just say that Your pedal killed it @ 4:00. I think this is what sorts your circuit from the others. It's a pure overdive. No boost, no extra EQ. dig it!

  • the cat seems to prefer the luther pedal !,....i'll go with the cat :-))

  • damn the Luther is holding up against a lot of pedals. Barber is the best OD. He makes so many killer versions. The Luther is a great drive. Normally I hate three knob drives I really like a bass and a treb control. I love the OCD but not the tone control which is really just a roll off. Most Barbers have a push pull pot on the tone control and internal trim pots.

  • Can you do a side by side Barber LTD and Direct Drive?

  • we don't see the cat as much in your newer videos, where'd it go?

  • GMD,

Love the cat! You could tell he thinks he's the supervisor. Anyhoo, thanks for the reviews. Got a Barber comin' my way. Love the sustain.

    Rock On \m/

  • hi i use a vox heritage ac 30 handwired amp what would be a good overdrive for it i play in a rolling stones tribute band i use a tele and a les paul thanks

  • wow...nice gear, for one. I think Crowther Audio Hotcakes go really well with AC30s. So a Hot Cake would probably suit your needs.

  • I liked your pedals sound more than the barber they are both nice though. Good work man! I am way into death metal you should make a satan drive pedal for me! lows and drive baby woooooooooooooo!

  • je-je

    the cat is always around!!!

    nice shots

the barber ltd is a great pedal

  • Nice video demo. Thanks.

  • I know you were looking for name ideas for the Luther at one point. Since you built it for clarity and presence, my submission is the Lucid Drive.

  • lol your cat

  • Damn I Like You!

  • Dude you are an honest guy... I think the barber won on drive too... Cheers on your designs :)

  • Thanks, GMD! Both pedals sound great. That Barber LTD sounds real sweet.

Tone Cat rocks, BTW. Maybe that's what I'm missing. lol

  • Two super awesome pedals.

  • your pedal sounded great, but I still prefer the Barber because of the sustain factor.

  • I dig the frank honesty. Made me LOL!!

I heart barbers LTD's too. That guy works hard fo da monay.

  • Tone cat!

  • :S do petals substitute amps?

  • yess.

    wait, no.

  • I like cats!

  • it seems like the cat likes the luther drive (0:59)

  • can u make a video of ur cat?

  • the luther seems to have more clarity. The barber has a little too much bottom end.

  • Thanks Jack Black for this shootout. . .shootoosh!

  • The LUTHER has great distortion characteristics and a wide tonal range. It sounds even better here in my studio...

  • Put black chickenheads on the luther

  • The Luther seems to let the tone of that 59 historic shine through better. It would take some serious effort to make that guitar sound bad. I had a 60 historic but recently had to sell it because my sewer line broke. I'll never have another guitar like that again :(

  • I've always found Barber OD pedals to sound very thin sounding. The Luther wins by far.

  • Cute cat.

  • luther all the way
