@docinfla You can fire small arms at propane bottles and not puncture then so even a worst case perfect shot recoil on a cable snap would not do anything more then scratch the tanks.
What are you talking about... Ohh wait that did happen :) Actually the upper bolts did shear when I drove my mog off a 2 story obstacle but the lower swing pins held. All after lowering about 7 rigs down the same obstacle.
After that I went with thicker 3/4" swing bolts and 5/8" upper pins, added some extra 1/4" plate to both the frame and bumper and shortened the frame so the bumper doesn't stick out so far.
10,000lbs. Off brand, Champion but hey, I think I've only really been winched 2 or 3 times. I should have the electrical ran tomorrow, maybe get started on the receiver mount for the front.

i feel like the bumper could easilly be pulled off by the winch or another truck, with only those two bolts and two handscrews holding it on =/

Verry nice is that a 24v winch
HEINZUNIMOG 3 years ago
Nope, 12V. I converted the entire truk to 12V. MUCH easier to find parts when you need them.
