just turn "detect crashes" of in realism settings, means that if you come down to fast you end up flying back up into the air though which is annoying

Actually they are called horizontal stabalizers :-P The elevators is the bit that moves on them. So yes, you were right about the elevators :-P

This is FS2004 (FS9). In FSX (FS10), it just says crash. But here's how to get those effects;

1. Download Massive Crash

2. Go to My Computer

3. Go to Hard Disk Drive (C:)

4. Go to Program Files, then go to Microsoft games

5. Go to the FSX Files

6. Copy it into the effects

The crash effects are limited, I think, but you can explode on impact, and if you hit water, the stabalizers will come off (sometimes the wings too).

hi thanks, I believe you should hit belly first, not wing, cause if the wing hits the water it will act as a break and flip the aircraft.

The aircraft positioning and attitude were done fairly well. But i personally cant stand computer videos that instantly rotate around an object like a video game. You can not do that in real life so why do it in a video you are trying to make look real. Oh an was the plane crashing on sand or water?

Hi Gargantis2! I dunno how it happened, but if you think that is strange you havn't seen anything yet! I took off from LHR and at about FL20, a BA 777 clipped my stabalizer, the elevators came off like that, but yet I managed to control the jet and land at LHR... Strange or what?! If you do a landing on water, you have to be slow and perfectly straight. I don't recommend putting flaps on either.
