The currency would need to be virtual from the outset and have no paper equivalent or name other than the 'unit' or 'coin'. It could be represented by a non-denominational symbol such as a square or circle with a cross through it. Each country/language/tribe etc would call it whatever name they wanted. This is already the case with gold. Mastercard could be given the job of running a card that holds the 'unit',
