you have to open the gun for the air restrictor removal because when the gun is shot and the plunger tube (the orange part) is hit into the internals it will destroy your gun unless you pad the plunger

this is simply called a AR (air restrictor) removal. it just provides a clear shot to the plunger tube and nothing to restrict the airflow.

If you take out the entire air restrictor like this, will the bolt-sled punch a hole through the plunger because of the force? Because I've heard accounts of that happening.

I got a question. If you prime a stock CS-class NERF blaster, you can't move the handle again untill you pull the triger, right? Ok, so, could you use that to hold the handle while you drill, or would that be a bad idea?

I'm really tempted to try this modification. There's countless videos of how to mod this gun with taking everything out. They're all blurry, clumsy, and ametur. Your video is much more professional, easy to follow, and doesn't seem to have any drawbacks. I'll let you know how the mod goes.

I've also seen mods where you use a slightly smaller spring with a reverse twist to the original spring to amazing effect, but i don't trust the durability of a nerf gun with that kind of power.

I know in airsoft to get higher power it can involve replacing a lot of parts with stronger parts/metal parts and buffering systems to keep the thing from destroying itself.

@ReddmanDGZ nerf guns are made for 5y/os to bash them on rocks they will be fine with this kind of mod but it wouldn't be if you put a co2 canister on it to shoot
