I don't what's so bad about the capes. Almost everything done in this video/song is like a tribute to Latin/Hispanic song and dance.

1.) TANGO, duh.

2.) their capes = muleta or the small red cape we are so used to seeing in traditional matches between a matador and a bull. In the choreography, Rain and the dancers all used their capes the way a matador would to coax the bull (like the girl he wants back; women often portray the bull or the muleta in some Latin dances).
