  • I still can't believe she's gone. I always wanted to see her in a museum.

  • hugh harris is my fav

  • I liked Hugh Harris when he done the commentating of the early shuttle launches, I wish he would do the very last space shuttle launch, a fitting way to go out with the Space Shuttle Program because Hugh Harris IS the true voice of the Space Shuttle Program, it would also be cool if Mission Control in Houston would use the old Mission Control Room that was used for the Apollo flights and then the shuttle launches as well.

  • I believe George Diller does the launches now, but he can't hold a candle to Harris. Hugh had a style that flowed very nicely, especially in his later launches. Today, they seem to stumble over themselves. Lisa Mallone was the worst. I hope they ask Hugh to do the last launch. He still works part-time during launches and said he would love to do one more.

  • Well, the space shuttle usually speeds up to 17500 mph a couple seconds before external tank separation every launch.

  • If this marvel og ingineering moves 7 miles in 20 seconds its doing about 5900 mph....! Magic

  • Good, good, good. I like it.

  • that´s right

  • do you know who's voice that is counting down to launch!!!!

  • Hugh Harris

The legendary shuttle launc commentator on the STS program early years

  • *i like his voice*

  • Who is the shuttle launch commentator on the STS today???, Who were the most famous commentators in Nasa's history??

  • I heard that if they went with the numbering system it would have been STS-41A.
