@etolle40 There are PC workstations that are way better , and cost way more than any Mac . DreamWorks Animation are all done on HP / PC workstations... The experience on a PC can be way better than a Mac if you're not cheap .

@iMrMacintosh well if you make your own PC then you don't have to worry about crapware. If you're not so great with computers or don't have the time for it, then all you'd need to do is uninstall the crapware (which is easier than uninstalling anything in a Mac)

You don't really need to transfer files from an old PC to a new Mac. If I bought a Mac, I would leave my computer alone with all my files and use the two for different things. I mean, all the stuff I download, I am very susceptible to viruses, and if something was to breakdown, I would rather have it be my PC because of how much Macs cost.
My loyalty to PC's include: VideoGames, Windows 7, Customization and Upgrades, and Living without the fear of having my computer become obsolete in two years.

Macs are pretty and all, but firstly, they are money sinkholes, and secondly, you are tied in to Mac. Also, it is meant for pretensious media 'creative' types... Try finding a Mac copy of SPSS for example (not that easy)
PC on the other hand, especially since Win7, really reliable, especially if you are tech-savvy enough. And you get what pay for. Want Mac style boutique machine, go for Sony. Want power, go Alienware. Want cheap simple servicable, go acer or asus or advent or...More variety.

1. What hard work? you copy and paste.
2. Vista/7 both have systems in place that allow you to transfer settings and files easy.
3. switching from a PC to a MAC is not easy... none of your programs will work, the OS will be set up differently and much of your hardware from your old system will be incomparable.
4. The reason why they have the "Genius" is because there there are only a few places that will support mac systems, yet everyone will support a PC system

You don't really need to transfer files from an old PC to a new Mac. If I bought a Mac, I would leave my computer alone with all my files and use the two for different things. I mean, all the stuff I download, I am very susceptible to viruses, and if something was to breakdown, I would rather have it be my PC because of how much Macs cost.
