  • my goodness, that guitar is wicked. great stuff!

  • @MissNacirema I agree, that guitar is absolutely beautiful. Jahnli, good good cover! I've never heard the original and as of right now, I don't want to. Take that as a compliment! I do love the chord voicings of the song - especially the D7.

  • over-flange :( good singing though

  • @VivTingg thats not flange, its tremolo

  • great job bro!

  • nice=)

  • beautiful cover of the most bittersweet song of all time...went to see Morrissey live in Liverpool last month, unbeatable!

  • Awesome cover Jahn! Love the tremolo effect... very wistful.

  • Wow, that was amazing

  • This is great! Fantastic job!

  • nice guitar.

  • I really enjoyed that.

  • Good Job Man i like your cover the best out of all the others ive heard

  • awesome guitar playing. very nice voice too.

  • I have the exact same guitar as you, but without the Bigsby. I'm looking into buying one, but do you have to install it yourself, or can you get the guys at the guitar shop to do it for you? I'm not good with the mechanical guitar stuff, and the guitar is way too expensive for me to attempt doing it myself.

Nice work on the cover btw.

  • The guys at the shop did it for me - I agree, anything involving drilling I leave to the experts.

  • brilliant guitar playing really really good.Just don't take this the wrong way it never sounds quite right with anyone apart from morrissey singing.I'm a grumpy old brit though so really good still.you've done johnny marr proud

  • Gorgeous! thanks for posting the chords ... and for flipping up your collar (takes me back to high school ;-).

    Beautiful guitar and amp combination.

    Cheers!

  • Nice Job....lovely guitar sound. Have you listened to Clayhill's version ?

  • Thanks for the suggestion, I hadn't but I just have - Clayhill's interpretation is stark and gorgeous.

  • Please please tell me what chords you used!! I need to know!!

  • D, A, D (Good Times for a Change) Bm, G, A (See the luck I've had, can make a good man bad) G, D/F#m A (So Please Please Please) D, A, Bm (Let me let me let me) G, A, Bm (Let me get what I want, this time) The little solo in the middle, instead of that last Bm, do this... D, slide to a D7 G, D/F#m A(3X) D, A, Bm G, A (Lord Knows, it will be the first time) Bm
  • dude, i love your guitar playing, and singing, and just choice of songs. can't explain in words how much i love the smiths.

  • nice one dude, i shall put you on my ipod for a week or two to show my m8's. thx

  • wow this is great. did u put the bigsby on that guitar or buy it like that?

  • It's an aftermarket bigsby, handpicked to be creak-free!

  • Nice!

  • The sound you produce for this video is just amazing. So warm. Good job singing the tune.

  • non sai cantare, sei stonato!!! ma suoni bene pero' molto bene...

  • hai ragione è un cesso , e la versione è orrenda

  • yeah just turn the trem down abit and it would be fuckin sweet awsome playin though

  • nice playing, nice guitar and rig, maybe just a little heavy on the trem, but still very Marr-like.

  • I like the irony of you playing it so chill with the lyrics the way they are, it's a great song, and you did it well. Thumbs up!

  • Great play but you gotta FEEL the singing. All of your angst, fear, hopes, love & hate into that song and it'll will be top shelf!

  • i made my cover too. check out.

  • The Josh Rouse cover is the best.

I used to own that exact guitar in that color. It's gorgeous in person. Great work.

  • wow good work

  • wow!

  • wow, you are an exellent singer and the guitar was great too. I just got my first bass saturday and i can play muses version of the song. but there is no way i could sing or play as well as you. expecially not at the same time :)

  • Thanks for the kind comments all. I like Muse's version as well as The Smiths' original.

  • all the cover version of this song are making me gag... but yours, i gotta say, i think it's better than the others because you gave it your own vibe. everybody else is trying to sing like morrissey and they suck! hahaha, i mean, comparatively, don't we all?

  • complete with the solo, quite nice. technically very good. the effect is heavy trem (maybe a bit too heavy). Guys, I think it's not flange, not delay, it's fairly pure trem.

  • man that tone is cool as hell. is that on delay? sounds ace. cool singin too pal.

  • Just the onboard Tremolo on the amp. That thing's so old it doesn't even have an intensity knob to turn it down!

  • can you send me the chords please, thats one of my favourite songs of all time and i cant seem to find the right chords anywhere

otherwise that was an amazing cover!

  • sorry i dont have tabs but from memory i think it's D A D, Bm G A, G F#m/D A, D A Bm, G A D.

  • That's a cool guitar! Is it a Gibson ES-295? I wonder how it sounds without the tremolo effect. That's a little too artificial for my taste. But great arrangement!

  • Hi, it's a ES-135, and sorry about the tremolo, I admit I went a bit overboard with that one!

  • not bad. would sound better without the american accent tho.

  • well done...don't even get me started on how bad i want that guitar!

  • nice nut its a bit too wobbly lol

too much flanger.. but still good

  • damn...

    u make me wanna cry...

    uahahaha

  • what a guitar!

  • Pretty in Pink!

  • nice vibrato

  • Nice! more Smiths please!

  • Nice guitars sounds :)
