No, Monkey is a style where the person is always low to the ground almost. It is a grappling style and usually the practitioner is on his/her knees or jumping around like a monkey! Very odd... and I often question how much of it is practical. Also they are big about sweeps.
I believe that actually was a Northern Mantis Wushu (The Sport Dance sort of Wushu.. although many people do not realise Wushu really is a better word to depict Chinese Martial Arts in general than Kung fu)
It's possible that they are mixed...there are a lot of mantis movements in there, but I also see some tongbei/fanzi (monkey)

mostly the grappling method like tiger crane fist & grappling method come from the SOUTH!
