yes my father is a texas trooper and the pilots have to be troopers then they can take the pilots board when they come up for promotion to sergeant

pointlessdevil, Anyone in a Texas DPS helicopter is a state Trooper, even the pilot from what I have been taught. This was great video . Thanks for sharing

@iweberdudei well not always true, they take up local agencies, other state agencies, media, federal agencies, etc when needed for various missions.

But yes, the crew are all troopers.
