  • Hehe you crack me up Katie!

Tried this one a few days ago and loved it (such a sucker for roses) or at least I think I loved it. Serves me right for not having a pen on me at the time b/c I'm not sure if I tried this/extreme/L'Essentiel b/c the bottles are so similar.

I'm new to perfume so it's funny how taste in scent can be so diverse. I love YSL's Opium but damnit I wouldn't mind smelling like a whorish, drunkard, college student. Plus I have a weird soft spot for Ralph so I'm not fussy! ;)

  • @pascha120 Our tastes in perfume are influenced by our emotions and smell associations. And also by our lack of associations...eg people who came of age in the 60s might smell patchouli and think "hippie", while younger noses smell it and think "Thierry Mugler Angel".

  • I wonder , how long does it lasts ,

Can some one pls tell me whether its long wearing or not pls ,,,

  • @zzafrin Lasts average...4-6 hours.

  • Hanae Mori Pink Butterfly ... obviously. Heehee.

I'm digging the dress. Pretty :-)

  • @wegajane Thanks!

  • Walk of Shame? For me it would be Chopard Wish.

  • what's your opinion on parisienne a l'extreme?

  • @oysterinbread Haven't tried it yet...

  • My Dolce and Gabbana BY Man - screams walk of shame to me....but hey, I can't help it.

  • it smells so horrible, like flower scented nail polish remover.

  • Hello Katie! I'm writing from Brazil, today I watched one of your videos for the first time and I watched 3 or 4 of them in a row. I really like your reviews. You were so right on loving Miss Dior Cherie and Parisienne. These two are my favorite perfums, although my brother told me I smell like "panties" when I wear Parisienne.

  • @Annasoaresbr Those are some pretty fancy panties your brother's been smelling!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Indeed!!! =)

  • I love this perfume..its one of my favs :) I'm way into it and "Rose the one" right now :) I adore anything by YSL..my last fav of theirs was "Babydoll" did you do a review on that one ?..thank you.

  • @crimsonsunlight2 Haven't reviewed Baby Doll.

  • i loved this one but my friend told me it smelled like a grandmother :(

  • Yes!! You are so right on if you like Miss Dior Cheri then you will definitely love this YSL perfume :D I'm getting it next time for sure!

  • just got it and love it, and this one doesnt make ppl around me dizzy.

  • I liked this through the opening then it dried down into my grandmother! Yucka!!!

  • @charlottesmom Perfumes are tricky like that - you need to sit through the entire performance to see what's coming next. Surprise!

  • While Paris YSL is my absolute favorite fragrance, I don't really like parisienne, too bad ...

  • @AnneLien1987 They don't really have anything in common, despite what the name and the bottle lead you to believe.

  • i hate this perfume .. it smells like chemical to kill insects ... alot of lychee too but smell like poison

  • @Shicurls *snicker*

  • @Shicurls Such a lovely portrait you paint! Let's just be glad the only fluid drenching the shoes is alcohol.

  • omg u were so right if u love the miss dior cherie, that you'll love parisienne. Miss dior cherie, was my favorite, or course till i smelled ysl. i love ur videos!!

  • @rhadya46 So glad - thanks!

  • Walk of shame perfume? Probably Juice Couture Viva La Juicy - it smells great on the bottle but on me, if smells like hooker, but not the classy one. Very overbearing and sickly sweet. Smells like the gal you wouldn't want to take home to home, and therefore is the walk of shame perfume. (Please take no offense to those who love it, it just doesn't work with me).

  • @benzchic909 i completely agree with you! on me, viva la juicy reminds me of that girl who has like 5 shots in the first 30 minutes of the party and spends the rest of the time puking in a bush.

  • i finally got it

  • Hey Katie

Why don't you review YSL paris

wich i love to smell so romantic

    my mom love that fragrance

and i am a guy but i love parisienne

it not too feminine it's got patchouli & vetiver

  • @AMDs44 Good idea - I'm putting Paris on the list.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Nice i am so excited about knowing your opinion about

    paris

do you think that a guy using parisienne or some women perfumes a good idea ?

because i am in love with it (thanks for you good vids & quick replays)

  • @AMDs44 Scent doesn't have a gender - you should wear what makes you dream. A fragrance is really you plus the juice. You and your personality provide the frame of reference for the perfume. If you choose Parisienne to wear, I'm sure it suits you!

  • I got this one yesterday and I love it ! I can vaguely smell the vinyl when I sniff the bottle but when I spray it on myself it smells more musky and woody than anything else .

  • @Sanbika89 That's just as well. Sounds like it really works on your skin.

  • I love the way your narrate each fragrance's story :)

  • @theniknasty Thank you! I appreciate your comment, cuz I do think a perfume tells a story on the skin.

  • you move your head so much it almost makes me dizzy keeping up with your all over head movements.

  • Totally without character ... playing it safe with artificial rose ... so déjà vu....(yet another in a crowd of similar / same) with short-wave synthetic fragrances .. poor stability on the skin. Faceless . Commercial campaign has been so promising ..... ahhh.

The Nose: Sophie Grojsman .. better to keep away from roses and YSL (Paris Premier Roses Paris Roses des Verges, both disappointing)....

  • @renataloncar I was trying so hard to see the merit in this one, because I was hoping this might be a mainstream rose scent that was appealing to younger fumeheads. I guess I shall keep hoping.

  • I feel like the vinyl/nail polish notes are the result of synthetic fruit that they just couldn't get to smell right. So the perfumers figured if they just acknowledge it in the notes, it's no longer a cheap, synthetic twang, bit rather it's "modern" or something.

  • @Evange That made me laugh -- I was wondering the same thing -- if it's the old "uh, I meant to do that" defense.

  • Love ur vids!

  • @booplaya Thank you!

  • Oh no!!!! I smell the vinyl now!!!!

I'm going to wear DK cashmere to bed, but tomorrow I'm going to try this one again.

  • @Sevipants19 *snicker*

  • hey katie.. i'm a big fan of ur videos. i need some advice.between stella and parisienne ,which one should i buy.. i really like both but can buy only one (thts all tht my allowance allows :( ) so which one would u recommend?

    thnx :)

  • @meis2cool I'd go for Stella.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells OK, Thanks a lot :)

  • Katie, do you know what that vinyl note is? I'm trying to identify it.

  • @Peregrine77 I don't know what aroma chemical is responsible for it. but I can sure smell it. I sort of vibrates between plastic and nail polish. It's the kind of thing it's hard to believe was included on purpose, but there it is in the official list of ingredients.

  • I just could never take YSL Paris and those violets.... I didn't love this one either, pretty but not enough personality to justify a purchase.

  • Paris is so emphatic, and those violets don't back down, so if violet isn't your favorite flavor of flower, I can see why Paris doesn't work for you.

  • wow, you seem to be one awesome lady :D

  • Well, that's good to hear!

  • This is my favorite perfume of ALL time. I will be wearing this the rest of my life. ;]

  • I now pronounce you Perfume and Wife.

  • I read other reviews before I smelled this my self because I am 19 and I hate fragrances that smell too old like white diamond or smelling like a cheap date (cough) " any Britney spears or Paris Hilton" this is nice, light, and does make me feel sophisticated and sexy while being elegant for my age! I have not smelled Paris but this scent might just because a new signature scent. And I think it's not just for older ladies in their thirties.

  • Good analysis! Thanks for checking in.

  • I love this perfume! I got it for Christmas and my bottle is already less than half full. My husband laughs when I put it on all through the day and even before bed ;-)

  • I do that with perfumes I love. If I'm near the bottle, I throw on more - even for bed.

  • Can you please, please, pleaaaaaase review Boss Intense by Hugo Boss? :)

  • I don't have a perfume that screams walk of shame to me...yet, but Givenchy's Ange ou Demon, smells like the beautiful, but shy girl next door, that secretly strips for a living. That's what came to mind, when I smelled it for the first time, at least! LOL And when I first put it on, It has an effervescence to it, that reminded me of opening a can of Dr.Pepper (which is the reason why I bought it.) :D What can I say I love Dr.Pepper!

  • I love Dr. Pepper and your Ange ou Demon description.

  • I love this perfume!!

  • I smelled it in a magazine and i love the blackberry scent! I wanna get it sooo bad!

  • Hey Katie, could you pls review Vivara by Emilio Pucci and Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel?

  • I do not get this fragrance. I think box is boring and the bottle looks cheap for YSL. I am not impressed with the fragrance either. The classic Paris is far better than this weak attempt to attract a younger customer. The best part of Parisienne for me was it's ad campaign. I do not think this scent will be around long.

  • The classic Paris is superior, ageed. I think I wanted Parisienne to be better than it is.

  • Hahaha you're so funny! It's true though. Once there's a bad association with a perfume (aka you got the worst hungover in life while wearing it), then you will never be able to wear it again without being reminded....

  • Nothing like a nasal reminder of a harsh time. It makes you practically relive the whole ordeal!

  • Hi, Katie! Great vid as usual.

I was just wondering if you were planning to do a review of Idylle - Guerlain? My mom lovs it, but I haven't had a chance to sniff on it yet.

  • Hmm, interesting suggestion. Might consider it. I do like it. It's very pretty-pretty, a tad reminiscent of Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely.

  • Do you know the Philosophy fragrances and which one do you like or don't like ?

  • I tend to steer clear from Philosophy - they all smell very synthetic and unappealing to me.

  • I smelled it in Harper's Bazaar magazine, I don't like it at all! It's so harsh and idk smells like bug spray or something. Have you smelled D&G the one? I hate it and it reminds me of that

  • Magazine strips don't give the you the whole picture of the scent, but I agree there is a certain odd nail-polishy smell at the beginning of this one that can be a bit harsh before it mellows out.

  • Lucky Brand, Lucky You perfume - walk of shame perfume of all time!!! LOL

  • im stopping by to say hi :)

  • Well, hi there!

  • Tabu screams walk of shame to me.

  • I need to smell that one.

  • Like cheap...make that very cheap...Shalimar. You can find it at your local CVS or Walgreens.

  • Tabu probably had something going for it in its original iteration...you know how they dumb down formulations over the years...

  • Tabu probably had something going for it in its original formulation. You know how they dumb down fragrances over the years...

  • Yes, it probably had more cache years ago. Now, it reminds me of aging Las Vegas strippers...or church ladies...whatever your frame of reference is :-) Shalimar on the other hand still retains that "can't stop smelling my wrist" aspect.

  • I don't get the love for Shalimar either. Its cheap, smells cheap, and comes in a cheap bottle. yeck!

  • I got a sample at Macy's. Oh my goodness. It smells just like roses. So pretty! Thanks for the review.

  • You're indeed welcome!

  • what is the song called at the end

  • It's "Perfume" by Sparks from their "Hello Young Lovers' CD

  • Oh, I love Miss Dior Cherie, I'll have to try this one! Please review Boss Orange? :)

  • I GOT THIS PERFUME FOR CHRISTMAS TODAY :DDD! x

  • @Catiie95

    Me too :D

    ITS SO AWESOME

  • @cottonxcandyxwreck

    Merry Parisienne Xmas!

  • @Catiie95

    Hey! How about that!

  • May be she was talking about Paris... Hilton. Now that is the fragrance of the walk of shame, and not only because of the homonimus character, but because the ashamed walker does leave a silage of PH. You did really lit my lightbulb when you mentioned Paris. There are quite a few fragrances which try to do a modern chic rose, but Parisienne is a definite win.

  • @izayus11 Heh! Glad to give your lightbulb an extra glow.

  • Katie, have you ever tried philosopy's Amazing Grace or Clean's shower fresh ? And what do you think of it ?

  • @Sukantara

Those "clean" fragrances are not my personal favorites. I find them nose-bludgeoning and headache-inducing.

  • On my quest of clean smelling scents, I did happen to try Clean's Shower Fresh...Which I think in very very small doeses is not bad...But also too expensive to smell like fabric softener...I could use Febreeze for much cheaper...Alas, the search continues!

  • Today at Bath and Body Works, I discovered one of the PINK fragrances that I actually liked...Pure and Soft (the one with the green cap). It smells so clean and soft. I can't wait to try it. Even though it is a body spray, I was pleasantly surprised. And doesn't smell like fabric softener :-)

  • I love Hanae Mori! But the closest thing I have to a walk-of-shame fragrance is... alas, Vanilla Noir by Bath and Body Works. Shame.

  • @MPoopC

Hi there - long time no hear! Yes, Pink Butterfly has her fans. I just thing she's a big blast of power and sweetness, always handy when trying to cover up the previous evening's indiscretions.

Have you reviewed Vanilla Noir on your channel yet?

  • Well, it took about an hour before Parisienne no longer singed my nosehairs...then it faded to almost nothing. I've always hated YSL fragrances though. They always smell old lady on me -including the ones that are designed for a younger crowd (I'm looking at you Baby Doll). I'll pass on this one...I'll have to think about this 'walk of shame' fragrance. haha

  • That whole vinyl/nailpolish/asphalt opening can be "challenging".

  • I love this perfume. I found a sample in a fashion magazine and HAD to get it! Pretty expensive, but glad I got it <3

  • mm this one sounds good.

  • this was hilarious! hahaha but i tend to like the majority of YSL perfumes :D they're lovely :) pour homme is one of my favorite colognes! but i lost my entire bottle :(

  • my other perfume might be a little cheesy by stila called jade blossom. imho it smells great!

i called the company and they said they had to temporariuly stop making it bc there was a delay in a particular scent/flower from asia. sephora isnt carrying it either. i have nearly run out dry on it, but i have paused at buying it at a perfume retailer bc i dont know if they are trsutworthy. do you think its okay to buy from perfume (discount) retailers... buying it at another shoppe?

  • I'd be concerned if it was a blockbuster Dior or Burberry perfume, cuz the bigger hits are more in danger of being counterfeited at those ramshackle discount shops. But you're probably OK with the Stila scent. Have you tried one of the big online discounters?

  • you have a good point.... do you know of a good retailer(s)?

  • Perfume, com, FragranceNet, FragranceX, BeautyEncounter and StrawberryNet are all reliable.

On my blog, KatiePuckrikSmells, com I have a 10% off coupon code for FragranceNet: PUCK10

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells just looking at your page.... i feel as if i have seen your book before... maybe bc i read a lot of magazines. or saw it in the bookstore. very cool. ill have to check it out.

  • Please do!

  • do you like bulgari pur femme? i love the scent a lot and have wondered why. i kind of like the amethyst but it doesnt mix well when i wear it....

  • I haven't tried that one.

  • great prices! :D

  • wow thank you!! i didnt even realize you had a blog! that is so cool :) im gonna look around. looks like you have some cool books there too. :)

  • Katie, pleas what the similarities between CD Sherie&YSL Parisien? I am wearing the first(in love with it) &tried the other and hated it(:

  • I make a connection between the sweet strawberry & rose with patchouli drydown of Miss Dior Chérie, and the sweet raspberry & rose with patchouli drydown of Parisienne.

However, Miss Dior Chérie is sweeter than Parisienne. And Parisienne's rose is stronger than Miss Dior Chérie's.

  • thank you Katie

  • Sure thing!

  • oooo sounds kinda good....i might have to try this one

  • i will definitely have to buy this perfume now that i know it has raspberry in it!

  • Be sure to try it first to make sure it works for you. Better safe than sorry.

  • good idea, dont want it to smell musky...

  • lol memory lane ;) interesting there is raspberry in it. i love raspberry and have raspberry everything... and rose. and i like the smell of this perfume from the magazine inserts ive smelled it.

i like to here what you have to say about different perfumes, cause i know i like some perfumes and not others but i dont know why. its interesting what you smell/sense of them :)

  • Perfumes are all little mysteries in a bottle. They more you smell different ones and compare them, the more their reveal their secrets.

  • Parisienne smells like hairspray on me. So like a college sorority house with ten women sharing a bathroom, doing their makeup and hair right BEFORE going out.. not the walk home!

  • I totally get that. It's that "fragranced hair 'n' body products" free-for-all.

  • Walk of shame scents: The ross nasty body splashes that peoplee used way too much of in high school...A la Bath and Body Works Cucumber Melon and Victoria's Secret Love Spell...It didn't work to make the locker room smell any better, nor will it help cover up the stench of bodily secretions, alcohol, and vomit...

Any suggestions on simple "out of the shower" kind of scents? Not to cover up the college benders, but just on those days you want to feel fresh and clean.

    Thanks! :)

  • @xxlsn2therainxx gross...I meant gross!

  • haha that would be mine too with the Strawberry and Champange Victoria Secret, cause those bottles are plastic and were perfect for stuffing in the backpack, lol. A good shower would be Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, it's one of those perfumes I think that you have to be the right bod chemistry to wear, on me it smells like a day at everywhere there is lemon beach, but on my co-worker it's fresh and gorgeous!

  • i don't have a "walk of shame" scent...

does this mean I am a shameless person (to say it nice)?

    loving your hair, Katie

  • Haha, lindashila! And thanks!

  • Britney Spears Fantasy is "walk of shame" in a bottle.

  • Lolita Lempicka screams streaky all nighter stench!

  • nooooo I love Lolita Lempicka! I think its one of those fumes that totally depends on your chemistry... hopefully? I don't want to smell like a WoS!

  • I think it's all in the application, especially with the more dramatic perfumes. Over-spraying can smell like you're trying to cover up the evidence!

  • ive got parisienne and i love it but when i first spray it on its grapefruits i smell then eventually the deep violet and sexy sandalwood its like an aphrodisiac or that little blue pill in a perfume spray !! lol xx

  • I love your personality. Dior J'dore is one on my favorites so what other fragrances do you think I'd like? Thanks in advance.

  • Merry Holidays KPS!! I wonder how you will smell on New Years eve?

  • what do you think of Anna Sui purple black bottle - eau de toilette?

  • loved this when i smelled it from the bottle at sephora, sprayed it on to let it settle and see how i felt after a few hours (figuring i would go back and buy it before i left the mall) ...it gave me a headache within 20 minutes!! it was the weirdest thing ever, especially because i did NOT spray a lot of it.... oh well, still on the hunt for a new scent!

  • i agree, the first smell is gorgeous, but when it lingers it goes horrible and you cant wash it off!

  • Please review Lola by Marc Jacobs! It's a bit late for me as I already bought it, but whatever you'd have to say on it would definitely make me laugh :D

  • Pink Sugar makes me think of a precocious tween who comes home wearing a scarf (despite the 102 degree heat outside) to hide the hickies, and chewing on altoids to hide the wine cooler breath.

In other words, the tween version of the walk of shame.

  • Too funny!

  • lmao ..this sums up my 19 yr old daughters life

  • @foxycleox you must be prooouuuud. xD

  • yes i feel ive exceeded my duty as a mother !! im overwhelmed with pride ..lmao x

  • lol

  • my walk of shame scent: Versace signature...with odd traces of Drakkar Noir and Bacardi Limon....yeah....

  • Yes!

  • i don't really like this perfume but love opium, best ysl perfume ever :) just one spritz n i feel incredibly warm, love love love it <3

  • Is it just me who doesn't really like the smell of Chanel no5??

  • i dont like it either its too strongg.

  • there was a sample in the carson's ad and it stunk, i really like coco

  • Hi Katie - I have been wearing Chanel Chance for what seems like this entire decade and I love it.... but cannot describe it to save my life. What are your thoughts?

  • Chance is a sweet floral oriental. Starts out a bit fruity, ends up woody and a bit heavy.

  • uhhh i love it! im going out today to buy that one and elizabeth arden pretty

  • I just got Parisienne as a sample from sephora order and I LOVE it. Good timing for your review. Always nice to have another set of nostrils to check it out.

  • Happy to lend the support of my nostrils!

  • haha! Thanks, Katie, for making me laugh and keeping me informed! And smelly, hehehe.

    Elizabeth!

  • Katie, you are just so funny. I always find an excuse to buy perfume and my boyfriend does not understand this. He does not understand why you should need more than one bottle. Can I ask how many perfume bottles you own ?

  • I have about 55 bottles...and counting!

  • I LOVE THIS PERFUME!

  • I love parisienne although i wasn't too fond of the original Paris- i find my taste in perfume has really changed as i get older- i used to love all those heavy poison type ones but now ive just gone right off em, anyways keep up the good work Katie i love perfume!

  • Hmm, I didn't like this one. No wonder, because I don't like Miss Dior Cherie. :)

  • HAHAHA that was beyon

  • Dear Katie, how about recommendations for sister or little sister of Eau Premiere? TY!

  • This is a tough one, because really the only sister of No. 5 Eau Première are her big sisters, Chanel No. 5 EdT, EdP and parfum. It's the aldehydes atop the the fizzy lemon-lime & plush florals that makes Eau Première what it is.

Having said that, here are some aldehydic fragrances that have that bright, clean feeling:

    Narciso Rodriguez Essence

Estée Lauder Pure White Linen Light Breeze

For the citrus/floral combo, try these:

    Chanel Chance Eau Fraîche

    Chanel Cristalle Eau Verte

    Gucci Envy

  • And to qualify those citrus/floral choices, I was skewing younger, since you did say "little sister" to Eau Première.

  • omg, you should do a perfume collection video!

  • Yeah, I need to do one of those!

  • I concur!

  • in my opinion parisienne smells nothing like miss dior cherie but a lot like chloé.
