  • @Nielstm25 The girl that Clapton was in love with gave him some Bell Bottoms to wear. He hated them but would wear them because of his feelings for her. Her name was Patti Boyd, she was George Harrison's wife, and Layla was written for about her as well.

  • Didn't the guy on bass use to be with 4play back in the day?

  • There just isn't music like this anymore

  • @Vertigo2903 alot of the shit that they produce doesn't even qualify as music. Most of it has no soul or feeling. It saddens me that at 27 I realize this, and wonder what does the future hold for music.

  • Just what can you say? MAGIC. no words are enough.

  • Clapton = Timeless Magic .... enough said.

  • Clapton is God.

  • Very simply, Clapton took a lot of drugs

  • @DCartRow so did your mom!!!

  • @DCartRow And you're a fucking asshole. Clapton kicked drugs, but I bet you'll always be a fucking asshole.

  • Perfect.....................................

  • This song, this performance, is musical perfection.

  • Very simply, Clapton is genius.

  • I've played this over and over. It "gets to me" like few songs have. Amazing, soul-baring lyrics. The music just seems to match the words perfectly. No holds barred. The singer is splayed open and exposed. From the heart. No, from the guts.

  • Bellbottom Blue, you make me cry.

  • I bow to you mr Clapton.

  • please check out my son...named after Eric Clapton...primussux (channel) and theDIMENSIONchannel (channel) originals and covers...guitar player, singer, songwriter...very talented and I say that cause it's true not cause I'm his mom:) thanks:)))

  • Welcome to the church of Blues! Today we study the majesty that is Prophet Clapton. As we pass the liquor Sacrament, thank the Lords of Blues and surrender your soul to that which is the awe of Clapton. Peace and great sex to you all!

  • @truckerdan, yes i am married but for too long. things have got to change in my life

  • Very nice!!...For some reason this song brings tears to my eyes!!!

  • @anniepink1 I will half to listen to it and read the words of the song to see why you have such a strong emotion over it. It truly means alot to you and if you feel that way, I been looking for someone all my life with motion, but as usual all the good women are taken...you must be married. lol

  • Best live version hands down -- love the slower tempo and raw emotion in Clapton's guitar solo and singing. Band and backup singers are fabulous too.

  • Great ! without comment !

  • CLapton is GOD. Check out my cover of this beautiful song in you get the chance.

  • i'm in love... i'm in love with this song !!

  • I've listened to eric clapton my entire life without having heard this song before. But i must say this song made it to my top3 the first time i heard it. Incredible!

  • "i dont wanna lose this feelin...." what a romantic song...

  • Bell Bottom Blues is the SWEETEST song. My favorite because just look at the lyrics. So romantic and heartfelt. Pattie Boyd must have been melting hearing this.

  • his smile at 4:05 mhmm

  • Eric Clapton is one of the greatest guitarist/musicians/writers in our LIFETIME! This song is absolutely one of his best and that is one song among MANY!!! So glad i grew up listening to his music nothing compares to the crap out there today!!!

  • @asmooch22 the album layla and other assorted love songs is one of the best albums of all time, people always talk about eric clapton's layla, but what about derek and the dominoes entire album? its a masterpiece

  • @asmooch22 your are SO LUCKY

I was born in '98 and had to deal with shit like lady gaga justin beber miley cyrus, britney spears.

But eric clapton opened my eyes.

  • I could copy-paste my comment from a month ago here... goosebumps all the way...

  • Eric is like the best wines...

  • Gives me goose bumps. Every.effing.time.

  • this song makes me cry every time...so much passion in the lyrics and the music

  • @xoxBrittyBoo me too...

  • Great Video and song... I forgot about this song from my youth! Yes, Eric definitely seasoned well with age... Great accompaniment musicians and background vocalists as well! Would've been a good show to be at and take in... Who is the black female vocalist? I always seem to enjoy what they have to add to the mix! :)

  • This is my favorite version of Bellbotom blues. I get goosebumps EVERY time.

  • Tessa Niles...Mmmmm...I would.

Have her stripped smothered in baby oil and sent to my room..

    Do NOT Disturb...

    Thankyou

  • those were the days..the golden days..whoooooaa!!!!!

  • Eric Clapton you are a god among guitarists and vocalists everywhere. God Bless you Slowhand im 15 and I appreciate the beautiful melodies you've given to this world. Great music Eric the world really needs more people that love music like you do.

  • @RockMusic590 Only 15 & you appreciate Eric? I tip my hat to you, and your parents who I imagine was an influence also. Wish my kids (older than you) felt the same.

  • Incredible song and performance...this is hard to top.

  • Love Clapton!!

  • EC sounds great but the Backup vocals are too syrupy and manufactured. Bobby Whitlock sang with soul that these clowns dont have.

  • Forever and always the best of Clapton. He'll never fade away.

  • Someone on Youtube, whom I would credit if I knew their name, wrote something along the lines of, "The depth of [Clapton's] virtuosity is so complex that you really have to watch AND listen to even begin to comprehend it." Apparently, the other outright legend in this video, Mr. Steve Gadd on drums, agrees. This is beautiful. Bell Bottom is my favorite Clapton song by far.

  • "If I could choose a place to die it would be in your arms" ... how PAINFULLY sweet is that?

  • @MoneBones : yes , so painfully sweet it is to die just like that..

  • @MoneBones Insanely painful... Makes me think of my ex. I would do anything to have her back.

  • @Nicl3706 cool story bro

  • "If I do a place to die it would be in your arms" ... how PAINFULLY sweet is that?

  • Superb !

  • amazingly beautiful... i love the guitar sings...

  • Love it

  • geweldig, beste gitarist en zanger ooit!!

  • I love Eric Clapton. One of the true greats.

  • Ooh, this is brilliant!

  • heres a question, did clapton sing this originally on the album, or was it bobby whitlock?

  • This song is a Venus de Milo, a sculture of words and bluesy chords. Thank you Clapton; thank you Pattie Boyd.

  • George Clooney on drumms !!!

  • This song is very emotional, I cant help but feel sad when I hear this song.. but at the same time, it makes me feek high. A great good song. Clapton is really god! Thanks for posting.

  • beyond comparison!! nobody can give much better interpretation on this piece than , the greatest musicicon himself. good job!!

  • BELLISSIMO!!!

  • ...do you wanna see me crawl across the floor; do you wanna hear me beg you to take me back!?!

  • @WisRonsin1

    No !

  • @WisRonsin1

    It's over !

  • absolutely the song i sing,no one hasn't able to sing with me coz absolutely they don't know the lines!!!

  • I just love the intro, I mean..the first verses and it's tempo. The chorus is alright, but I just "feel it" a lot more in the verses...they seem a lot more deep to me.

If any of you know any song with such an intro or verses alike, please reply or send me a message. I'll appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

  • Clapton was staying with Emile Frandsen de Schomberg who's dad painted the piece of artwork for the cover of the Layla album. Clapton briefly had a fling with Emile's friend Rene, and he wrote this for her.

  • I think i just understood music!! Every Clapton song is a musical lecture!!

  • this is for you Sissy-I can't believe you are gone-be at peace and in no more pain my sweet angel sister-this song you listened to so much when you were younger-I miss you soooooooo-I will forever remember your contagious smile-I love you-Butch

  • Give me one more day please... I don't want to fade away...

  • This was my Dad's song to my mom as well! I love this song thanks to my Dad!

  • One of his best songs.

  • clapton soothes my weary soul

  • This is a beautiful version, but honestly, the studio version transmits emotion a little more I think. I think it's just because when he recorded the studio version he actually felt the pain he was singing about. It's such a beautiful song though, he can't go wrong with it...he could play it in a sombrero and with a ukulele and a bunch of bongos and it would probably still sound good.

  • @LRifenberg

doesn't sound like the pain is gone to me ....

  • Better than A-men corner eh Andy ?

  • this is the best

  • Like a fine wine...

  • Eric Clapton is God!

  • ukandoittowithkandoo- The bassist is Nathan East. I'll agree with you, he is absolutely the MAN on the bass. Look up "Circus Left Town" from EC's Unplugged on here, Nathan puts on an INCREDIBLE riff. In addition to it being a heart-breakingly beautiful song :). Both Katie Kissoon and Tessa Niles (backing singers) are both extremely beautiful and talented women in their own rights as well. BBB is probably in my top 5 favorite songs by any artist, ever..this version is amazing..thanks!!!

  • @capnbill99 Yeh Nathan East is such a subtle creative bassist - he reall adds to this awesome performance, as do the two backing singers. It really captures that passion of the album version.

  • My day isn't complete without hearing this song. Eric Clapton is God!!!
