This is a funny bit but the truth is that tap water in many places in the U.S.tastes like crap from all the chlorine & other minerals that are in it. There's also parasites, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals & other chemicals that can linger in it after it goes through the treatment plant in some areas. It obviously won't kill you but it's not as clean & healthy as some people would like to believe. Best thing you can do is get a purifier on your faucet & limit how much tap water you drink.
when i was in America, we just bought a small filter that doesn't use energy and put tapwater through that. Rock is right, America is so fuckin' spoiled it aint' even funny. try Brazil, for example (my home country), people here (moved last week) will use anything and everything they can. sometimes it won't even be usable and they'll still use it somehow!

It has chemicals like chlorine & fluoride in it. Sometimes it becomes contaminated with bacteria. Arsenic & lead are found in many US water supplies as well. If you give you family bottled distilled water (would be better if the bottles were glass but that's another issue) you're protecting them not spoiling them.
What's really sad, is drinking from plastic bottled water is not only damaging to you but also to the environment. Poeple need to buy a filter, that's the best option.

Water is such an essential requirement (like air), it should not be a for-profit industry, but maintained as a public service.
Most tap water in North America has small levels of flouride in it, the same ingredient in toothpaste. This isn't in most bottled water, so tap water can be better for your teeth than bottled water
i live in the netherlands and we got some of the clearest water. we actually live under the sea level and if it ceeps rising half of it would be under water. 2012 maby lol

There's actually a guy who is bottling up NYC Tap Water, and selling it, people are actually buying it too. It costs him maybe 2 cents per bottle and he is selling it for $2 per bottle. Fucking genius.
I think it really depends on the house for the taste sometimes. I know my friend who lives maybe 3 km from me his tap water tastes bad, but I like my tap water. BTW I'm in Toronto
you know, estimates about bottled water says about 40% is really tap water. and the rest usually isn't from "pure" springs or whatever they show on the bottle either.
Every town is different. My town has pure no chemical water but a couple towns over they found some harmful bacteria in the water. I'm sure every state in the US is different with different quality water good and bad.
@icecool1065 i've gone for very long amounts of time without drinking straight water. probably years. currently i have been able to buy glass bottled water that has minimal amounts of fluoride. i dont drink it all that often though.
as for teeth juice being "full of sugar" i'm not sure what brand of juice you're drinkin but i just drink natural juice w/o added ingredients. the fruit naturally has sugar but i dont think that is what corrodes your teeth. i think its the citric acid.

@anney0207 yes, juice from concentrate is mostly tap water. while real juice only contains water naturally from the fruit. if the fruit is grown in a fluoridated area then i think it will have some fluoride, but i believe it will be much less than the amount in water as the roots probably provide some sort of filtration enough to leave most of the fluoride behind in the dirt.

i saw a commercial for a product called "zerowater". it's a pitcher with a filter supposed to remove all the dissolved solids and i looked it up online and i think it removes fluoride but not sure

I swear dude. NYC Tap Water tastes awesome. Now, the purity and stuff of the water depends on your buildings plumbing. I had the luxury of living in a building with pretty good pipes, so the water was awesome.
There's actually a guy who is bottling up NYC Tap Water, and selling it, people are actually buying it too. It costs him maybe 2 cents per bottle and he is selling it for $2 per bottle. Fucking genius.

I think it really depends on the house for the taste sometimes. I know my friend who lives maybe 3 km from me his tap water tastes bad, but I like my tap water. BTW I'm in Toronto

Every town is different. My town has pure no chemical water but a couple towns over they found some harmful bacteria in the water. I'm sure every state in the US is different with different quality water good and bad.

@icecool1065 i've gone for very long amounts of time without drinking straight water. probably years. currently i have been able to buy glass bottled water that has minimal amounts of fluoride. i dont drink it all that often though.
as for teeth juice being "full of sugar" i'm not sure what brand of juice you're drinkin but i just drink natural juice w/o added ingredients. the fruit naturally has sugar but i dont think that is what corrodes your teeth. i think its the citric acid.

@icecool1065 their is a fair amount of research pointing towards potential neurotoxicity and other health risks of fluoride, such as dental fluorosis, and other forms of fluorosis. i dont think the levels of fluoride in american water are high enough to cause dental fluorosis but i do beleive it causes damage to the pineal gland in the brain. most american water has fuoride in it, added by the government. it also has other harmful chemicals, as well as traces of drugs flushed down toilets

@icecool1065 i'm at all not trying to tell you that tap water is not cleaned. the water that we drink (at least in america) comes from a "water district" that supplies the water to your community. most water districts in america add fluorides to their water.
if you live in a country that doesn't fluoridate it's water, that's great.

@anney0207 yes, juice from concentrate is mostly tap water. while real juice only contains water naturally from the fruit. if the fruit is grown in a fluoridated area then i think it will have some fluoride, but i believe it will be much less than the amount in water as the roots probably provide some sort of filtration enough to leave most of the fluoride behind in the dirt.

i saw a commercial for a product called "zerowater". it's a pitcher with a filter supposed to remove all the dissolved solids and i looked it up online and i think it removes fluoride but not sure
