He's Fuckin Ripped. And non functional. So sad a rare instance of roger not quite picking up the cues. No one is going to forgive a performer not showing up...
I'm sure that most people under 40 would think of Roger Miller as a square old country singer. They don't realize how edgy his scene was. Performances like this? "My Uncle Used to Love Me But She Died"? Roger Miller was one wild genius, for sure.
@DrTheJuice ///You should send what you've just written in your Christmas cards to start the New Year out right for you and your "dirty" mouth. Dirty mouth? Clean it up.!
Not only is Raising Hope a great show, it has great music too! From Bert's Social Distortion t-shirt to bands that are named after food :) My Name is Earl had great music too (same creator)
@HoWHiGHSi Roger M. spent some time in rehab himself. He got clean from pills and booze, but never could stop chain-smoking. Lung cancer did him in.
Speaking of J. Cash, there's a story told by Bono about the members of U2 having dinner at the Cash home one evening. They were impressed that JC started the meal with an eloquent prayer of thanks.
When he finished, Cash looked up and said, "But I sure do miss the pills!"
@moproducer wow thats crazy...i guess i get what he was saying you never get over the addiction thing..you always have that little voice in the back of your head...but u gotta take it one day at a time that is what works for me..
Hey peoplez who have found this via TV. I highly recommend looking into this Roger Miller fellow. If you liked this you can jump off with: "King of the Road," "England Swings," "Husbands & Wives," add "Hang Me."
Thumbs is rockin' that Batman T. I could listen to this song every day for the rest of my life. "This is a hot lick that everybody always enjoys." LOL.
yeh i saw the show and remembered how much i loved Roger Miller, I got tickets to see him & took my Mom & Dad, thinking they'll love it, but I was awe struck by this Man, he blew me away with his wit, playing the fiddle and guitar and this is coming from a Beatles , Hendrix to Bob Marley Fan.
I can remember my grandpa singing this song when I was a kid. He sang/played it on the guitar when my mother was a kid herself too. I hadn't heard this in years, until it was played on a TV show the other night. I'm glad there's a decent video of it on here.
Man. He's wasted here.
