I have an H-8000FW that I am using with synthesizers and I have to say that this thing is made by some super-dooper extra-terrestrial intelligence! It's simply AWESOME.
I have been lusting for one for absolutely ages and I finally got it. You are right to think that even crappy casios sound amazing through this... You have no idea what it can do to audio...
actually I played a casio through LOL it just to see. and that crappy tin string sounded lush and gorgeous. I played with the eventide h8000 a couple of times but that is hardly sufficient to having one and discovering it over a period of months. very curious to a comparison to the vintage h3000 which supposedly has more grain to it.
Yeah, the H-3000 sounds a little grainy, but this is part of its own *sound* - the H-8000 has super smooth converters - you'd have a very hard time if you compared them to say an Apogee AD16.
hey FYI I got the h3000 d/se back in august and am in the market for a used H8000 here in the next few months... I can't wait. How have you been enjoying yours? Have you started to program your own algorithms yet?
It is my dream to own an Eventide some day but unfortunately will I never be able to raise that kind of money. But than again maybe that day will come.
There sooooooo coooolll!!!!! Angel Echos is my fav....John Petrucci use`s that patch on The Great Debate....check that one out live.....have a good one
Thank you for posting man. It was great to see (and hear) that changeover from complete dry to wet. I`m really impressed how good the effects sounded. That were factory presets or your modifications?
Sounds GREAT man. I've been playing guitar 20+ years so I know good sound. 2 Questions: 1) Why using the verb on the ART box instead of the Eventide? 2) Does the Recto Recording Pre's clean channel get a dark enough clean tone for jazz guitar?
Absolutely. I have a GREAT sample of that jazz darkness on my Eventual420 channel (link is on this channel) with a song called Blue Sky Sunday. The Recto and the Eventide did a great job, having listend to some Jazz players, I took to the Recto and milked out those tones. The ART is just the hint of standard reverb that I find missing in preamps. The Eventide blows it over the top, typical of the Tide are extreme effects. This way I could have both since I dry up the Tide alot.

They released pedals that are far more affordable than the rackmounts.
