  • Low Thia Khiang nvr fails to speak up for the ppl in the parliament. we need more opp leaders like him!

  • I never stop laughing listening to his teochew speech

  • I hope that the fence-sitters will think beyond 'self' when they cast their votes. Low has been a wonderful, caring MP and it hurts to lose him to a GRC. However, I think we will lose even more if he is not even in parliament. That would have been disappointing. I've lived in Hougang since my birth and we have never been really lacking on the inside, the spirit though upgrading etc. didn't happened for the past 20 years. Material isn't everything.

  • When u see such a support u know the part is gonna win.

  • Low Thia Khiang Roxs! i wanna go to his rally this year!

  • zero breakthrough GRC in year 2011 general election.

  • Im so jealous of you hougang teochew ppl. Why can't there be an cantonese or hokkien oppostion leader in my area....sighh. Just curious though, do the younger generation in hougang still speak teochew?

  • @busted192192 Fo those kids who stay with grand parents , I am sure they still understand speak Teochew

  • 1:07 "MBIAN KNGIA EH!"

  • really put pap to shame...

  • The govt has pulled down some old flats in HG and made new flats... so the no. of Opp voters in HG will drop.. HG may go to PAP next election!

  • i like chiam see thong and low thia kiang as they proved that singaporeans are not 100% pleased. i feel that the the government tend to disrespect opposition too often even in parliament. that alone is a disgrace.

  • I find LTK quite incredible... how is he able to hold on to Hougang for so long?

  • Thus now, still most of the Teochew stays in Hougang. Low TK is a very good leader, most importantly, he is a Teochew like us and his bond to the people living in his ward were especially close, due to being Gaginan....

    Proud of it.

  • As during the early 20th century, many teochews from Swatow migrated to South East Asia and eventually Singapore, most of them settle in this part now known as Hougang, and some in the City area near Chinatown known as Teo Chew Street. However, those living in Teo chew street are early Merchants dealing with traditional Teochew trade like fish merchants. Those who settled in Hougang further up the city were mostly vegetable farmers and helpers.

  • This is our Singapore opposition leader Mr Low TK, he is a Teochew, taking care of his ward in Hougang, Hougang in English translation means Behind River.
