There is an asteroid 2011 S05 that will be coming close to earth on Sept 30 and there is another asteroid 2005 YU55 that will be coming close to earth on Nov 9, and during this time the Comet Elenin is traveling by, the dirty snowball will be leaving debrey. Hopefully the debrey won't effect the 2 asteroids that are coming close to earth. Also seen a video of Comet Elenin break into 2 pieces, from a solar flair. I think when the comet passes earth, then there will be a large quake.

i calculated the speed and trajectory of this comet and i got a different result..jpl has the comet passing and coming around the sun at 77,400 mph when it reaches venus orbit, they have it accelerating yet again to over 89,000 mph. at the same time they have the earth slowed down to 53,000 mph. This means jpl has the earth slowed down 11 days. at this point the sun should grab and slow the comet. not accelerate it. if the speed remains constant it will pass even closer than 6.3 million miles.

I think this topic is interesting, but Hogland jumps to a lot of conclusions that don't have any evidence behind them. Just because a comet is having a close pass by us doesn't prove that it was "designed". Sure its very interesting and very rare, but its dangerous to start jumping to unsupported conclusions like "since the odds are so low it has to be sent by aliens".

Hoagland isn't the most reliable expert to be giving an opinion,he's been known to be wrong on quite a few of his statements.For example i can remember when NASA crashed the satelite into the surface of the Moon,firstly it was a nuclear bomb,then we were going to see massive plumes of water coming out of the surface & we were going to start a war with the aliens inside of the Moon.I wish George would have a more reliable guest on but i suppose Hoaglands stories are more entertaining.

@imatelly Well, I never thought of this comet as any threat until now. If it truly disintegrates, the debris and hydrogen cyanide gases will be pulled into Earth's atmosphere in late Sept as we pass through it's tail. I was hoping it stayed intact as we could now be pelted with a ton of debris if it is in a process of disintegration. Now, there is no way to develop a model of where the debris will go if it truly disintegrates. Most likely Earth's gravity will pull it into our orbit.
