This video inspired me to make something similar, so far I only have one with still pics, I would like to use vid clips like you did but I dont know how. Check out my vid labeled Slayer, horror culture. let me know what you think. thnx
@ForgotteMemories101 That is from Tenacious D's video for their song "Fuck Her Gently." The video's animation was created John Kricfalusi's studio Spümcø - the same studio that did The Ren & Stimpy Show.
u should do another one just like this but use different clips of course but the same type of movie Friday the 13th, Halloween Texas Chainsaw, ETC., but this time use the song White Zombie - Astrocreep, also add a few clips from The Terminator 1984, i know its not a horror movie but the thought of a machine wrapped in flesh is pretty fucking terifying, thanks man
@JokerScars69 Thanks a ton for the suggestions, man! Believe me, I have every intention of doing another one of these some time soon but I just keep getting side-tracked with other things. Hell, I've been meaning to make another one of these for about two years now. And when I do, I'll definitely use a clip or two from Terminator. There's a ton of creepy, bad-ass images in that flick. Thanks again!
Amazing amazing video!! I've seen a lot of the movies on the list, but the ones I haven't I'm going too watch soon. Thanks for keeping great horror movies and great music alive!!!
@zeshleman Thanks my good man. 3:44 is from Sleepaway Camp (1983). Not my favorite 80s horror film by any stretch, but if you've never seen it, it's definitely worth sitting through just for the ending alone. Definitely one of the craziest shock endings of all-time.
I don't get too much time to watch movies, but I was surprised by how many I knew from watching horror movies as a kid. Then again, there were quite a few in there I'd never seen. Great job.
@RadDugan Thanks, I should have carried this over to Facebook too. A week later and I am still digging this. I've been on a White Zombie/scary movie drought for a couple of years, so this is something really cool to come across.
@TheGollyLlama That's fantastic. Thanks so much for taking the time to check it out and for commenting on it. I've been watching an admirable amount of horror movies lately so I've been itching to make something like this again. And I will, I just don't know when. Maybe next month or maybe next year.
@mayostrain Thanks! The movie at 4:53 is Lucio Fulci's "Zombi 2" or just "Zombie" as it is known in the States. Definitely check it out if you get a chance. It's just an atmospheric, creepy, over-the-top, wild ride. Great zombies, great FX. The splinter-in-the-eye scene is easily the film's most unforgettable moment but there's some other crazy shit going on in this movie. There's even an underwater scene where a zombie fights a fucking tiger shark! No where else you're going to see that.
Hey RadDugan, it me again. Hey i have question what are the movies at 1:43, which is something on a cross and 2:41 of a man with a goats head on the cross.
@MrHorrorking131:43 is a scarecrow coming to life in House of 1000 Corpses (2003). And 2:41 is a dream/trip sequence from the 1980 movie Altered States.
Fucking A Dude! Some of the best horror scenes with a kickass tune! Does it get any better? You even included a scene from The Electric Company! LOL! LMAO at that! One thing-you should have included a scene from Trick Or Treat-a horror flick about metal so it would have suited. Still get an awesome job! One of the coolest videos I've seen on Youtube!
@maidenrulz1 Thanks a ton dude! I appreciate the praise. Good eyes on picking out that Electric Company clip! Very perceptive. I think you are probably the only person who noticed that. The Electric Company was fantastic television.
most awesome horror flick compilation and probaby not a better song to stick it to! i can watch this over and over...it 1:58 from scanners?? And 2:03 with the feet being mangled by the saw, which movie is that?
Thanks dude! You are correct - 1:58 is from Scanners and 2:03 is from Dead Alive, which is also known as "Braindead" outside of the U.S. Definitely check it out if you have not already. The scene that clip comes from is about the bloodiest, craziest scene you will ever see. Pure insanity!
Amazing Job! I actually wish a hollywood director would watch this in order to remember what real suspense/horror directors used to do to make us scared. Fuck the Ring! You're Grudge isn't scary and neither is your fucking lame little doll that tortures people (i'm looking at you Saw). Once again, excellent job with the comp!
This is a fantastic video!!! I love that you actually nailed Rob's music video style of just throwing together cool crazy stuff from everywhere. And how although horror-influenced, you tossed in some great CE3K, 2001, and other visuals from films that aren't exactly "horror" (although are definitely strange). The cartoon clips were great too.
Definitely one of the best fan vids I've ever seen. :)
I'm glad you dug the overall vibe. I felt like using a few non-horror clips as exclamation points here and there wouldn't do an injustice. Thanks for dropping a line and thanks for the kudos.
damn dude...this is some serious shit. It must have took forever to get all those clips. And they're all really good parts in really good cult films. Freaks, Wicker Man, Fear and Loathing, and was that a scene from "Duel" I saw? I think it was! Pet Semetary, NBK, Shocker, omg ..what was the name of that movie with the black car that chased those people? I'm gonna goto cinemageddon and find it =D
The clip is actually from "Christine" but it does look strikingly similar to the "Karma Police" video - one of the most clever videos ever, I might add. I guess Rob would have to approve it. I bet he would really like this video. I pictured this video the first time I heard this song. You are a wizard. I hope you show us more.
Rob, you are reading this. I know this would cost a lot of money to show, but you can't deny this is entertainment. You should write another epic song, and let this dude direct the video, or at least help out. I saw you twice in Detroit in the early nineties. You are a treasure. Your music plus peoples' vision, like this, equals a priceless work of art. Let it be.
I don't know what to say, Mr. McGee, other than your high praise made my day. Thank you very very much. It's a great feeling to create something and have people respond to it. I will indeed make more in the near future. Thanks for watching.
Oh, and Rob, if you are reading this and you ever need an editor...
