Which doctors office did this? From what I've experience in this town even if you have some form of insurance they dick you around anyways. It took a month for my fiance, who was at the time having myoclonic seizures,to get a referral to a neurologist. Then the neurologist scheduled him an appointment for an EEG on a day they weren't even open! They've also denied him an mri because of his doctor at East Bernstadt Medical Clinic sent him to a useless pain clinic,he didn't want stupid pain pills.
@KindaShort I don't want to give names because I can't prove that it happened, so it would be my word against theirs. You're right though, there seem to be a lot of con-artists around here who try to take advantage of patients, with or without insurance. Regarding the pain pills, I think that reveals another problem with our health care system. Many doctors seem to over-medicate instead of advocating preventative medicine and over-all fitness.
I understand about not giving names. I agree with the over medicating. At the same time they shouldn't deny patients who actually need the medication just because of the addicts. I also don't have insurance and the care I got at a certain hospital was awful. How nice to be told I'm exaggerating but then get told I'm sick and given prescriptions. Also you may qualify for a spend down card, have you tried getting one?
